It should also be mentioned that there was a mini-event between Amazing Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Punisher, so they're not completely out of the event game either. Avenging Spider-Man actually... Ah, my bad...but Amazing Spider-Man DID cross over with Daredevil (which was fucking AWFUL) so THERE! :P
I can't wait to see what that girl's reaction to that Thing armor will be? GIRL: What is this? JOHNNY: I dunno, something Reed made one day. GIRL: Why? JOHNNY: ...Look, I love the guy, but he has his...quirks. He'll work on twelve dozen serums for Ben and then he seems to lose interest. He'll build ...
If I remember right, Bendis said that he's pulling the OG's out from a very specific time in their history, and I do think Iceman moved on from the snowman phase of his powers fairly quickly (while Jack was still on the book, at least), so maybe this moment is after he figured out his ice form?
Flashpoint #1 -- I dug it. It was a really interesting, twisted take on the DCU, and I'm really curious to see what this world is like and how Barry's going to try to solve things. Even when this ends, I hope this world isn't destroyed completely--it definitely looks like it deserves a place in DC's...
I think the first line of the artist's comments says it best: "Every time I think there’s nothing new to make fun of about Bruce Wayne’s parents’ deaths, something new crops up."
Like I said on the other forum--which I assume is going the way of the dodo--I LOVE this movie. It's second only to Dark Knight in terms of overall Batman movies, IMO.
I've had enough emotional pathos in my Spidey movies(and I loved the Raimi films). I want one liner action Spidey this time around. Give me a kick arse Sinister Six movie, I need to see Kraven, Vulture and Lizard this time around. I said emotional pathos, not emotional retardation. *insert "OH...
I'm definitely going to try and see both, probably get the novel if I find it--the plot sounds very interesting and, from what I've heard of both of them, they both take the source and do interesting things with it.
Also--was I the only one who liked Cloverfield? I don't see what was so bad about it.
I saw (500) Days Of Summer last night--FANTASTIC movie. It's absolutely hysterical, and yet well acted and performed and all the characters felt real and three-dimensional. The last line might have been a BIT too on-the-nose, though, but that's just a nitpick at best. Also, after seeing this, I'm CO...
And it's out of here. The clip is no more. Which I just don't get--like the Thor footage I get why they would want to take that off, it shows off a lot of stuff that the casual audience probably doesn't need to see. This, though? It's literally about 30 seconds with a logo and Sam Jackson narrating...
I read it--I think while her situation's changed immensely, she still has a lot in common with her past version (which we even see in a dream sequence). Overall I really dug it.
I question her weird shoe things (wouldn't it make it more "urban" to have her in combat boots or something?), the choker (when would Diana have time to shop at Hot Topic?), and the jacket (why not give her a trenchcoat? Makes her more like Trinity, the inspiration for the costume, and it ...
I've tried over the past two years to get back into the book, but I can't--to me this era's second only to the Clone Saga in terms of being the worst period for Spider-Man. Besides #600 and the beginning of the Juggernaut arc, every issue I've read has ranged from mediocre to so horrible that it's s...
