Re: Tour Reports

Awesome list Dubbat. What were the highlights? Lets see The Ramones, they are my favorite band. So getting to see them 3 times was great. First time I saw them they were opening for Pearl Jam. Once The Ramones set was over I left. Mainly cause I had already seen Pearl Jam 2 times and am not a huge o...

Re: Blockbuster closing locations

Movie Gallery and Blockbuster were the only video rental stores in my area. The next nearest one is over an 40 minute drive. Well Movie Gallery closed up a few years ago. Then the Blockbuster in town closed up last fall. Not that I will miss Blockbuster,I had major issues with some of their policies...

Re: PKD Black Box #65: Jamal Igle & The Mighty Orbots.

Shawn has a uber pop-culture conversation with award-winning Artist/Creator Jamal Igle . During the episode they talk about being art fiends, what makes for a great comic book, Jack Kirby, Rob Liefeld, reading experiences, cartoons, television and toys of yesteryear, the DC 52 relaunch, why we watc...

Re: What have you watched recently?

Carnival of Souls the original. One of the few pre-1968 horror movies I enjoy. If you haven't seen it goto archive.org and download it. The film is in the public domain, and plays out like a longer episode of the Twilight Zone. Mothers Day-This is the 2009 remake. Decent film, but I am still wondering...

Re: My Hunger Games Rant

As the father of two sons,I will say I have read all three books and saw the movie. And enjoyed the film and the first 2 books. My oldest son has read the books and saw the film and enjoyed them. But he is also in his early 20s. My youngest hasn't seen the movie yet, but I think at the age of 8 he i...

I would say no. But then I can't get into audio books. Have tried a few times but much rather read the physical books.

Re: Wrestling Figures

I use to have a bunch of wrestling figures. But when I moved in 2007 I sold off most of mine. All I got left is my ECW RVD ,Dudley Boys and New Jack figures. Got lucky back in 2004. Friend of mine was managing a Dollar General store. In the stockroom he found an unopened case of the ECW figures. Sol...

Re: Megos-1970s and the new Retro ones

I had so many of them as a kid. I know I had Kirk and Spock from the Star trek line. Spider man ,The Thing,Conan,Batman and Robin. Plus at least a few others. But as a teenager I took them all out in the yard and blew them up with m-60s.

Re: What have you watched recently?

Since the few shows I watch are currently between seasons I have been watching the dvds of the UK version of Life on Mars. Great show so far. Was very surprised I liked it cause normally I hate any show that is based around cops.

Re: What Books Are You Reading

The Wind through the keyhole by Stephen King

This is book 4.5 of the Dark Tower series. And so far has been pretty good. I like that we get to learn more of the past of the main character.

Re: Do You Read on the Toilet

I keep a magazine rack full of magazines, comics and books in my bathroom. Back when I had my own bathroom I didn't have to share with anyone. I had a magazine rack full of stuff and a stack of old comics on the back of the toilet. Worst thing is sometimes I get so into a book/comic that I sit there ...

Re: Who Uses the Library?

I use my library. But it is the only library for 3 counties. And it is extremely tiny. So most of the stuff I want to read I have to get through inter library loan.

Re: Book vs Movie (The Shawshank Redemption)

I read the book years before the movie came out . And prefer the book to the film. The film is good, but the novella is so much better.
