Re: The COMICS MONTHLY MONDAY THREAD

Scott and I have had our rounds with Superman The Movie. I think a lot of one's perception of the film has to do with how old one is. So when you grow up, you'll realize how wrong you were about it then? Awesome! All kidding aside, a lot of my distaste for the film has started to fade as I ha...

Re: The STAR WARS MONTHLY MONDAY Thread

Scott, Kamino is my favorite planet from the prequels. And Darth Tyrannus/Count Dooku is a badass, but that is the point, yes? </DeathsHead> I mean casting Christopher Lee as a Sith Lord? I mean, sometimes the obvious thing is the RIGHT THING. He had a pretty badass run there, playing Dooku AND Saru...

Re: The COMICS MONTHLY MONDAY THREAD

I like Quest For Peace mostly because I actually saw it in the theater! "DESTROY SUPERMAN!"

Re: The STAR WARS MONTHLY MONDAY Thread

I liked AOTC a lot when it came out, but I don't think it has aged well at all. Like Joe Anthrax said, the romance just sticks out like a sore thumb and Anakin is a whiner the entire way through.

Re: The STAR WARS MONTHLY MONDAY Thread

Ugh, OK, here's my "enjoyment" scale, but I do love these movies: ESB(one of my favorite films, hands down) ROTJ(I like the Ewoks, and all the puppets, suck it) ANH(If this was all we got, it would be a classic piece of space opera, but the sequels make this better by existing) ROTS(very ...

Re: BIG THANKS to Ken and the guys!!

[ The only reference to The Black Hole I have ever seen at the parks used to be in Disney/MGM Studios on the Special Effects Backlot Tour. At one point on the tour, you end up in a room for a practical effects demonstration, and the walls and ceiling of the room are lined with props and models from ...

The Freaks are in the HOUSE!

Back To The Bins is one of the best podcasts ever, and Death And The Acrid Smell of Gunsmoke rocks the party (that rocks your body).

Re: Scott's soundtrack/film score appreciation thread

Kull The Conqueror - Joel Goldsmith (hard rock sword and sorcery) Hmm, that's a new one on me. Never heard it or seen the movie. Who's in that? I do like Joel Goldsmith, though. He scored this video game my oldest plays, Call of Duty 3, and it is VERY good! Kull stars Kevin Sorbo as the titular bar...

Robocop - Basil Poledouris Raiders Of The Lost Ark/Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom - John Williams (I listened to these over and over and over and over as a kid because my father would play them in the car whenever we went for a drive! I knew the lyrics to "Anything Goes" before I eve...

Re: BIG THANKS to Ken and the guys!!

My understanding is that the SM tracks at the Walt Disney World version CANNOT be altered. I forget the whys and whynots of the situation, but I remember reading or hearing of this not long ago. Probably on Ricky's show. Interesting, I did not know that. Tha suggests a structural situation with the...

Re: BIG THANKS to Ken and the guys!!

Two of the big podcasts I listen to -- TTF and Alternate Reality -- have set up new forums in the wake of all of CGS's problems. This is not a complaint. Btw, where is Alternate Reality? Or did you mean they have a new forum that isn't part of this one either? http://alternatereality.freeforums.org...

Re: BIG THANKS to Ken and the guys!!

I was reading on Wikipedia that the track is all-new but follows the exact same layout as it used to. So while it is "new track" the ride experience has not changed in that respect. A lot of the changes were cosmetic. They added little wall unit video games on the queue (not unlike Soarin'...
