Definitely Johns, Waid, and Bendis spring to mind. Also Mark Millar, particularly his Millarworld stuff. I'm also a Dan Jurgens fan and I like Keith Giffen also. Stephen King is a name that will also always draw me in for a look, even though he is not primarily a writer of comics.

Not even sure. Something to think about. Bill and Victor should have an easier time putting a list like this together than me.
