Re: All New X-Men #7 (Spoilers)

My only problem with this issue is that, as a 'new' x-men reader, i had no idea that Raven was mystiques real name. I was thinking that Raven was maybe a mutant physically similar to mystique. It was only in the 'this month in the X books' bit that mystique was mentioned by name. A minor niggle to a...

Re: Cultural Wormhole Presents: Valiant Future Episode 10

So i'm back off holiday, have caught up on all my Valiant books and am in the midst of listening to the podcast! I assume by now you've all seen the news about Shadowman's new creative team? http://valiantuniverse.com/2013/09/03/must-read-valiant-peter-milligan-and-roberto-de-la-torre-demystify-shad...

Re: Harbinger #15 (Spoilers)

I'm tempted to believe that it won't be 'all in Kris' head' and not real. Seems too cheap a get-out for Valiant, other publishers maybe. I wonder whether Torque won't be dead but in a coma, or something, and can still 'live' with his psychic shell. Maybe his psychic shell will be all that keeps him ...

Re: Valiant Future Contest

For me, Valiant's big appeal is the variety of genres that the titles cover; the superheroics of Harbinger, the sci-fi of X-O Manowar, the horror of Shadowman, the action of Bloodshot, the comedy of Quantum and Woody, and the.....everything of Archer and Armstrong! We aren't presented with a choice ...

Re: Harbinger #15 (Spoilers)

I'm leaning to think Harada's not involved, someone new? Or maybe Kris is suffering post traumatic stress? I have enough faith (no pun intended) in Valiant that everything we saw was real and not just a dream/hallucination. Fantastic issue.

Re: Cultural Wormhole Presents: Valiant Future Episode 7

It's not so much the quality of art/writing in Shadowman. I don't feel that the character (Shadowman as opposed to Jack) has been explained well enough. If someone asked me what Shadowman's powers were I'd struggle to give an answer. Mind you, I'm not a massive fan of supernatural/magic stories so t...

Re: Cultural Wormhole Presents: Valiant Future Episode 7

I think Harbinger Wars as a whole is fantastic although, as was mentioned on the podcast, there is quite of lot of repetition throughout the 3 books (HW, Bloodshot and Harbinger). I just read Bloodshot 11 last night and was surprised/shocked by the amount already seen in HW 2. As regards ranking the...

Re: Cultural Wormhole Presents: Valiant Future Episode 7

great episode! One of the (many) things I think Valiant is doing better than other publishers is (re)introducing characters in existing titles before giving them their own. Being a 'new' Valiant reader, I have no previous (i.e. pre-relaunch) exposure to the likes of Eternal Warrior or Ninjak but I a...

Re: Cultural Wormhole Presents: Valiant Future Episode 4

minor spoilers ahead(?)!! I think my favourite valiant book this month had to be X-O Manowar. Being able to access the gatherings was an amazing twist. The art was fantastic too. (this issue was only topped by the issue 10, did not expect THAT reaction from Gafti!). From what we saw in Harbinger 9,...

Re: Bloodshot #8 and Archer & Armstrong #7 (Spoilers)

Archer and Armstrong never fails to be excellent. I too like the current 'team' and all the in-fighting it brings. The art suits the tone of the book so well and the story mixes humour, action and 'serious' plots extremely well. I may have given up on Bloodshot after the disappointing last issue. I ...

Re: Cultural Wormhole Presents: Valiant Future Episode 2

Hi, Congratulations on the first 2 episodes of Valiant Future, absolutely fantastic! Like yourselves, I am not familiar with 'old' Valiant and picked up X-O Manowar purely due to an online preview. Now I am hooked on all the titles! At a push, I'd say Archer and Armstrong is top of my list. Looking ...

Re: All New X-Men #5 (Spoilers)

This is the first 'X' book i've read for many years, the vast number of books and continuity having previously kept me away. It's successfully re-introducing me to the core characters and i don't feel 'lost' at all. (i read AvX so that probably helps). Gonna pick up Uncanny X-men too.

Re: Cultural Wormhole Presents: Valiant Future Episode 2

Thanks Russy, and welcome to the forum!! Be sure to stick around, things get pretty hi-larious :). Oh, and out of curiosity, how many issues into the series' were you sold on the title? I think for a few of us, it took 2-3 issues to fully convince us of the awesomeness. Was that true for you, too? ...

Re: Shadowman #2 (Spoilers)

Good issue. I'm also not normally into horror/demons and stuff but one of the reasons i've fallen in love with Valiant is the way that each new series brings a new genre to the line.

Re: Bloodshot #6 (Spoilers)

My favourite issue of Bloodshot so far. Plenty of action. I just feel the character needs more of a 'purpose' than 'who am I?', but it seems the Harbinger Wars may help with that.
