Re: Doctor Who Series 5

The actors are great and Matt Smith does a great job. But some of the episodes had awkward pacing or direction and I felt they are still trying to define the direction of this Doctor. The Moffat episodes were the best but I hoped the whole season would be lifted up by his leadership. Someone posted ...

Re: Old School Game Play Help

No, I didn't. I just don't follow the video game industry much. TM II holds a special place from my late college years. One room mate bought the game but it was me and the third room mate that got hooked "killing the Clown". It was a tradition to come home from classes, pop a Corona, chips...

Re: Captain America: The First Avenger Movie Talk

Okay, started June 28th (it helps to read the article first).

I love it! The movie is filming under the name FROSTBITE. Too funny!

Re: Feedback

An Artists Forum would be great. And a Writers one too for those that write. Books would be good too.

How about a Conventions folder? I'd like to start a thread about the San Diego Con and who is going. With the CGS boards down, I'm not able to see who to look for at a Tilted Kilt Meet-Up.

Old School Game Play Help

I've never really gotten into video games. If I did, I'd never get ANYTHING done. I'm happy playing things like Ms. Pac Man and Tetris and Myst was as about as exciting as it got for me. But every now and then a game really hits with me like crack on a 10 dollar whore. A couple of games that I reall...

Re: Movies or Comics?

Comics first. Although probably more movies lately. I think I share my time between music, art, TV, movies, and comics. Yes, I just can't commit and cheat on all my "loves" with another one.

I did have some kangaroo when I was over there.

Yes, it was good.

No, it didn't taste like chicken.

Re: Everyone say HI!

Hello R.R. Werner from the San Francisco Bay Area. Brian Hancock mentioned this new forum to me and I'm glad he and Roch, of the other Captain America podcast, now have a place where I can comment on their podcasts. After about 5 years, I'm actually cutting back on the number of podcasts I listen to...

My first job was working the "Win a Goldfish" booth at a carnival. That's right, for my first job, I was a Carnie!!! I've made pizzas. Sold a pizza to Eddie Money once. I've done the books at the pizza place. I've bartended at the pizza place. We carded Eddie Money's wife. :) I was a graph...

Re: BD Transfers to watch out for.

Are you talking about the Firmware thing? Mine's not hooked up to the internet as well and I might have to burn an upgrade to a disc and bring it to my Blu-Ray. My Harry Potter Blu won't play and I think it needs the upgrade. I think Blu-Ray players will need the upgrades from time to time or else, ...

Re: Collection Database

I use DVDpedia. I think they have a free version with a limited number of movies you can add but I did the one time fee for the full works. Basically, it can tap into IMDB and Amazon.com for information and images and everything can be manually edited. Essentially, it looks like iTunes but for movie...

Captain America: The First Avenger

I'm almost a little hesitant to start this thread since I'm of the mind to wait until the final movie is out before I judge it while I know others react to every bit of news about the costume, casting, and story. But lets dive in! What are your impressions so far? Costume: I rather that they went mo...

Re: Older Movies on Blu-Ray

Good info. Thanks. So it sounds like the ones that go back to the original, like the Bond films, do well but the ones that get a bad transfer (maybe from the regular DVD?) are not going to cut it.

Older Movies on Blu-Ray

I have A LOT of movies on DVD, many of them older movies. My Blu-Ray player does a good job of upgrading the picture a little so I don't think I need to replace the DVDs but, for a few select favorites, I might double dip and upgrade. But I'm hesitant about older movies on Blu-Ray because they were ...
