Re: State of the X-verse

OK; I think I'm finding my footing again. I'm digging AVX. And I just picked up the Wolverine & Jubilee vampire trade; it's actually pretty decent so far. Gonna go back to following Uncanny and Wolverine & The X Men. I remember X Force being pretty cool when it first began, and judging from...

Re: My Hunger Games Rant

Another really interesting takeaway from the trilogy that I'll keep vague here to avoid spoilers: This series gets REALLY dark as it progresses. It is not a white hats vs black hats story. In fact(considering this is a novel written primarily for young adults), I was worried that they were going to...

Re: Avengers Vs X-Men reading order

Looks cool. So where does AvX: Versus #1 fit in? And has it even been released yet?

Re: A v X

Question: AvX Versus-- Has the first issue dropped yet? I haven't seen it in the LCS the last couple of times I dropped in.

Re: State of the X-verse

Picked up the latest X-Force. Probably the most enjoyable X-Book I've read this month. :) I also picked up Legacy, and while it was OK, I'm not sure if I'll stick with it. Cannonball & Rogue are cool, but I've never been a fan of Iceman or Beast, and I don't know who the hell some of the other c...

Re: My Hunger Games Rant

I respect and admire your passion and desire to speak your mind, dude. :) But while the killing is definitely a major part of the film, it isn't the main focus of the story, any more than Revenge Of The Sith was focused on Anakin killing kids. In both cases, the deaths are a horrific part of the sto...

Re: Great Superhero/Comic Novels?

Cool thread idea! There are some really cool suggestions here. :)

A few that I've enjoyed-

Hellboy: Natural Selection, Hellboy: Bones Of Giants, Hellboy: The Lost Army and The Ultimates: The Tomorrow People.

Anyone read the Wolverine novel Weapon X?

Re: A v X

^ I dig that first cover. :) I'd buy toys of the X-Men depicted in that style.

After reading Zero a week ago, I FINALLY got a copy of issue one. Looking forward to digging into it. :)

Re: Game of Thrones

Yes, very excited. They've done such a great job moving these novels to the screen, I SO hope they get to do Storm of Swords. That will really get people talking. Storm of Swords is INSANE. I hear that it's going to be two seasons. The cliffhanger is going to be a bitch. The ending had my jaw dropp...

Re: Game of Thrones

One thing that confused me was the old guy with the mutton chops drinking the poisoned wine, after Stannis' beach fire. Was he just trying to commit suicide in front of everybody, or did he try to murder the red head, and it failed? I think she switched the glasses, or maybe she is just immune to t...

Re: Episode 132: Wild Pigs

I love this freaking podcast. :) Just listening to the intro banter, and my inner Star Wars geek started spazzing out: Dudes; you're both talking about the SAME clone wars cartoon movie. It featured the introduction of Anakin's Padawan AND a mission to track down Jaba's kidnapped son. ...fuck; now I...

Re: Game of Thrones

That episode felt like a whole lot of not much happening. The stuff with Peter Dinklage playing the council like chumps was good, otherwise seems like everything else could've been shortened up and more scenes added in. Like, I still don't know who the redhead is, or much of anything about the king...

Re: Game of Thrones

I'm loving the show. Compared to most of the crap on network TV, Game Of Thrones is like 24 karat gold. I have to admit though, people familiar with the books are probably getting a whole lot more out of the series than folks who aren't. Which makes me wonder, what percentage of the viewers are folk...

Derby City Comic Con

The 'Ville is stepping up! :D Louisville is hosting a convention June 30th. One day only, but I'm amped about it; especially since I missed out on SDCC passes this year. If you're gonna be in the Louisville area on the 30th, it looks to be worth checking out. :) http://www.derbycitycomiccon.com/" on...

Re: State of the X-verse

I went on a 10 year hiatus from reading any x-books and just started back reading them pre schism so maybe I'm just easy to please. Same here. Except the 10 year hiatus ended about 5 years ago. Since then, I've been on for a couple of months, then I fall off the wagon for a month; wash, rinse, repe...
