Re: Favourite Comic Book/Graphic Novel

I just finished a re-read of the whole series and it still holds up. Messed up, funny, and mind-bending at the same time.

Re: Uncanny Avengers #2 SPOILERS

Nothing against Captain Britain. In fact, I enjoy most of his stories and Excalibur is one of my favorite teams. I thought that the Uncanny X-Force story featuring Captain Britain in Otherworld was just fucking atrocious. Maybe it was just the art on that, but that put me off that character for a li...

Re: Uncanny Avengers #2 SPOILERS

Horny teenagers. Police brutality. A waitress that is light on her feet. Wino sluts banging punky mermen. A smooth-talking honky with a butt-cut. A red-faced Nazi spewing hatespeech to a mystical Jewish powerhouse. And that's all the craziness that I can come up with from this issue off the top of m...

Well, there's Metal over in Avengers Academy. He is a positive African-American role model...at least for a couple more issues.

Re: X-Men D-Listers

Didn't Sage go off to become "one" with the multiverse at the end of "fake" Exiles? I loved her character before all the Exiles stuff. New Excalibur and her interaction with Bishop during the "Murder at the Mansion" storyarc was great. She's definitely been gone long en...

Right on. That confused me almost enough to take me out of the story. Still glad that I didn't read that story. Now, i can reread AvX 9 and appreciate fully. Thanks!

Re: AvX #9

Didn't Spidey lose his spider-sense awhile ago in his own book? In the big stand off, he says that his spidey sense is going crazy. Anyone have an answer for this or is it just oblivious writing?

Re: X-Nation 66 Preshow Thread

Firstly, the media-frenzied issue of the month: Astonishing X-Men 50. I must admit that I am a huge fan of the Marauders, despite their misuse in the past. I think they make a great morally-bankrupt villain to throw in the way of the X-Men. The underlying villain of the story is relatively lackluste...

Re: X-Men D-Listers

Necrosha is possibly the easiest retcon that the X-writers could use to bring back dead characters. I was hoping that Pyro would have been a return that would stick, along with Caliban for that matter. Instead it was used to bring back Cypher (which has been blah for every issue since his return) an...

Re: X-Men D-Listers

These are some good points, Cibawag. I would be up for a return of GenX except for a number of key members of that group have been thrown into such radically different situations since that title. A few are dead, others are being used in creepy stalker love stories in Wolverine and the X-Men and I b...

Re: X-Men D-Listers

Peter David's X-Factor is a great example of what can be done with these kinds of characters if given to the proper writer. I do remember the LONERS series that lasted a few issues awhile back. That had a wealth of forgotten characters, but no plot or character development to go with them.

X-Men D-Listers

We have had the X-Men Gold and Blue teams, X-Force, X-Factor, Excalibur, Generation X, X-Force again, X-Factor again, etc... Has there ever been a series featuring only the characters that have fallen by the wayside in the X-Universe? There are plenty of X-Men characters that have plenty of promise ...

Would you rather have all comics drawn by Bachalo at his worst or written by Claremont at his best?

Re: Favourite Comic Book/Graphic Novel

By default, I have to say Watchmen, but the rest would include:

Bone
The Maxx
Typhoid, the Marvel Max mini about Typhoid Mary
Berserk
Locke & Key, so good
SQUEE
SUPERNOVAS, the trade of Uncanny X-Men where Rogue leads her own team
ALBION by Alan Moore.

All good stuff.

Re: Episode 36: The Korvac Saga

Great show as usual, guys. So glad that this was one of the storylines that you covered because I recently tried to get through it and couldn't. The story itself was a bit confusing at times, but what killed my attempt at reading it was the characterization of the Avengers members, particularly Beas...
