I am as sad as the next person that this got cancelled and would love to jump on the "Fox-Hate" bandwagon, but Brad/John made a good point on the latest (last?) episode of Podcatraz, and that is that it is so easy for us (fans of a certain show) to get up in how great we think that it is, but neglect the reality that we are in the minority. As great as we think the show was, unfortunately when you look at it objectively it wasn't a profitable exercise for Fox to continue.
And if I am going to be brutally honest, I can see why it never got off the ground, as much as I loved the show and think it had a heap of potential, there were a heap of eye rolling moments each week, that I would over look just because I was giving the show the "benefit of the doubt". Example include how Soto was able to identify the inmate each week, the fact that every time they cut from the mainland to the "Batcave" represented a 30 min ferry trip, the need to look at each inmates box each week, the ability to identify a neighborhood from one photo of a front porch, etc, etc.
Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the show, and I am sad it is gone. Here's hoping 1 of 2 things happens (both of which Brad and John mentioned):
1. Story can be continued/finished in another medium, comics specifically
2. Someone from the show comes out and says "Hey guys, here is where we WERE going and here are the answers and directions we had in mind from the start...."
BE EXCELLENT TO ONE ANOTHER......
