Started watching Fringe

Postby Johnny M » Sat Jun 04, 2011 9:38 am

I'm about 11 episodes in. I like it a lot. I can see how people say it takes a while to get into major story arc. There have been a bunch of monster of the week shows so far, but they are still good tv.

I saw the pilot when it originally aired and was already wrapped in to much TV to commit to Fringe... It has a pretty big following and I do like the concept. It is on my future to do list as well.... Not sure I had forgiven FOX for cancelling Firefly when Fringe started so I may have been gunshy.

Season 1 done. It ended very well. Tying in all of the freak of the weeks to the finale was a big payoff. Watched the S2 premiere and it is certainly heading in a cool, unexpected direction.

Early impressions:

Love Walter
Wishy Washy on Peter as a character. Too nonchalant. I get that he is a genius, but he takes way too much in stride
Whats not too love about Olivia? I wish in real life all female FBI agents were hot and wore fantastic pants suits like on TV. (See Fringe, X-Files, SOA)
I want to punch Olivia's sister in the face.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying it :)

Peter gets better in S2 for sure.

Olivia's sister makes very few appearances after S1 if I remember correctly(but the niece still shows up from time to time)

Considering the olivia/divorce thing doesn't ring a bell at all... yeah, I'd say they went away.

I don't remember an Olivia divorce thing at all. I need to go back and watch the first three seasons again anyway, I love that show so much!

I haven't had the same problems with @4 that a lot of people seem to have. This week's episode was a lot of fun.
