E3 2010 - What sparked your interest?

Postby JordanFromJersey » Tue Jun 29, 2010 4:37 pm

For me it was Portal 2. The gameplay footage I've seen looks like Portal had a one night stand with Bioshock(on the design front) and that makes me a very happy boy :)

And who could beat the second trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic? That looked awesome!

I wholeheartedly agree with both of your picks, Jordan.

Rage-The new id engine 5.0 running in all of its HD glory was a beautiful sight to behold. This game is like Fallout and Borderlands had a good looking kid and taught him how to play Doom.

Fallout:New Vegas: A big favorite of mine (and some of the other Dudes)from 2009 was Fallout 3. I put over 100 hours into that game. You can imagine my glee at seeing Fallout New Vegas.

Halo:Reach- Ship-to-ship space combat, a brand new graphics engine, four player co-op, and the new assasination moves and armor load-outs from the online beta. Yes please.

There were also a lot of things I expected to see but did not:
New Elder Scrolls:Oblivion game from Bethesda(Bethesda South has been working on something for a looong time with no announcement)
GTA5, LA Noire, or Agent-All three of these Rockstar games are in various states of production but had no E3 presence at all
Prototype 2
Beyond Good and Evil 2 and the new iteration of Thief- two big hush hush projects from ubisoft

Kinect, and the lame mini games for Kinect, because i'm and old gamer who can't cut it with the hardcore games anymore.

But i will get Halo Reach!

For me its the Spider-Man game and Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I will buy a new system for MvsC 3, and then you wont see me for a few months.

I think Rock Band 3 is going to be a great move forward for that genre as well, looking forward to that game too.

I'm thinking its got to be Ultimate Spidey. What else have they got? They already did a game in that style so they have all the art assets for it.

Spiderman games always seem so awesome in the beginning, but they always lose steam really quick for me and i get bored with them. They need to fix the free roam aspect of them because everything else is pretty good. I know there's a good game in there somewhere, they just haven't found it yet.

I don't want to sound old and surly (especially since I'm just 19) but this whole motion capture gaming thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Or that might just be the sweat and blood I taste after 5 minutes of Wii boxing.

Just give me a D-pad and 2 buttons.

...or 4 buttons. I do have to make my Tiger Shots go both high and low.
