Got a really good deal on "Bridge of the River Kwai" I have heard great things about the BD and it is one of my favorite classic films. Also have "War of the Worlds" from netflix. I haven't seen it since I saw it in the theater.

Also picked up Sherlock after just finally hearing Johnny M's recommendation on the LOD Christmas episode. He is right this show is amazing. Can't wait till next season.

I recently watched the 50th Anniversary Edition of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. Anyone who says Blu-Ray is wasted on movies that weren't shot in hi-def need to be strapped to a chair, A Clockwork Orange style, and forced to watch this. The picture quality is amazing, and add that to the fact that this is one of the best movies ever makes it just that much more awesome.

I got the wife to watch John Carpenter's The Thing last night. She wasn't overly impressed but then she has only got 4 weeks left till the little one is due so that might have something to do with it!

I have to say the film looked stunning on my 42" and I can't wait to plow through the special features

Watched Ip Man 2 tonight. Almost as great as the first movie. I think the story in Ip Man was stronger, but there's more action in 2, and all of it is top-notch. The fight scene between Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung is the standout. Highly recommended.

Didn't realize they went ahead with the third flick. I remember reading that both Yen and the director were against making it. Gonna have to put that in my Netflix queue.

Went on a bit of a binge of viewing yesterday as i was building stuff for my new house.

Watched: True Grit, Never saw the original but you can't go wrong with the Coens and the Dude.

Also watched Machete which was so over the top that it was laughable, but holy shit was it a good time.

I just put Rango on my Netflix but I have a feeling that I will want to buy it. I am actually still a little pissed about Netflix raising their rates. Not getting new releases when they first come out and still giving us pared down discs with no special features. Okay rant over

I bought the alien anthology 6 disc set from amazon UK today for a whopping 37 bucks. Now I just need to wait the 3 weeks to get it. Oh well still worth the 30 buck savings.

Plan to watch The Wild Bunch tonight.

Stake Land was a pretty cool Vampire Apocalypse movie. Kind of a cross between I am Legend and Book of Eli. Worth checking out.

Blu-ray superhero double feature last night. X-Men: First Class and Thor. First time seeing the X-Men flick, and as a stand alone movie, it was really good. Thor was still pretty awesome, even after seeing it 3 times at the theater. For a 2-hr movie, it goes by pretty quick.

Watched Bridesmaids on blu-ray last night. Not as raunchy as I was led to believe, but it was pretty funny. Afterwards, I noticed that the unrated version of the flick was available in the Extras section, so I'll probably watch that this weekend. I'll likely watch Thor again, too.

Now that I've got all the original Planet of the Apes movies on my DVR, I'll be knocking those out soon.
