Prince is the Man!

Postby Brad » Thu Jul 01, 2010 11:58 am

Prince has always amazed me with his talent. He's had some stinker albums, but my favorites are, in no particular order, other than the first one (my favorite), Sign O' the Times, Purple Rain, Musicology and 1999.

There is, of course, TONS of great stuff on most of his albums.

It's true. I took my wife to see him live once. We were in like the 4th row. He was awesome.

Prince not only is one of my favorite performers, but he also as JohnnyM mentioned, puts on a great live show. We saw him here in Pgh. and in addition to a three-hour show both with his full band and a segment of him alone acoustic(best version of "Nothing Compares 2U" ever...) everyone in the audience got a free copy of his new CD on the way out of the arena, and this was like two or three months before it was officially released.

Meghan and I sometimes debate MJ versus Prince, as she loves the MJ and I do not. I look at it this way:

Who Prince hooked up with: Apollonia, Vanity, Sheena Easton, Kim Basinger, Mayte, Diamond and Pearl, Sheila E, Wendy and Lisa, and reportedly Madonna as well

Who MJ hooked up with: Emmanuel Lewis and Bubbles the Chimp

He's also been know to go door to door in the Minneapolis area handing out copies of The Watchtower with his Jehova's Witness friends.

I am the co-host of the TWO TRUE FREAKS PODCAST . I have been alternately described as a "hellish jumble of mismanaged parts" and a "humble God".

Also, Prince has ALWAYS been batshit crazy. Right from the start. It's just that enough time has passed that everyone realizes that it isn't an act. I like consistency.
I would say forego his studio albums and search for the wealth of bootlegs of his concerts available on the internets.
