Hi, everyone! As an alternative (or in addition to fantasy football), I want to invite you to a simple game of weekly NFL Pick'em game. A lot simpler and less time consuming than the fantasy version, this game simply requires picking of winners of NFL teams playing that week. To make it even simpler, there are NO POINT SPREADS or WEIGHTED SCALES to concern yourself with. The core group originated from the Comic Geek Speak community, and we are entering the 4th year of the game. It primarily gives us a chance to test our luck (and some knowledge) and maybe even a dosage of friendly trash talking with your friends. We've been known to muster up a commission by the group's artists (Steve Bryant, Jim Nelson & myself for example) as a winning prize for each season also.

Okay, so I want to offer you guys our own "league" team helmet graphics. You can upload these helmets into cbssports.com profiles as your avatar if you want.

So far, I have not done every team, but most certainly can make new ones. If your team helmet has not been posted yet, please let me know, and I'll post it here.

Thanks for being a part of our league and welcome! This league has been mainly formed to enhance our enjoyment of NFL, especially by putting a small stake in some games that we would normally not care much about.

Please allow me to reiterate some of the league rules. Some of the rules have been updated from previous seasons, including changes made as recent as today. I encourage ALL OF YOU to please read the following:

MAKING PICKS (DEADLINE):
- Each week's picks must be submitted in its entirety by one hour before week's first game.
- You can make as many changes to your picks up to the deadline, at which point the picks system will close for that entire week.
- MAKE SURE you make your picks for ALL OF THE WEEK'S GAMES before the deadline.
- Be mindful of Thursday night games (such as the opening week -- THAT'S THIS WEEK!). You will not be able to make picks for the Saturday or Sunday games separately when you miss the Thursday deadline. This week's picks in its entirety are due September 9th at 07:30PM EST.
- For some unforeseen circumstances such as problems logging into the system or the lack of broadband internet access, you can contact one of the admins for assistance. In most cases, the admin should be able to make the picks for you. E-mail is the preferred method. However, the deadline rule still applies in this case. If you fail to contact the admin BEFORE the deadline, the admins will not be able to make any picks for you.

SCORING:
- Pool includes all NFL games.
- Ties go to player with closest total points for MNF game.
- Players who do not make picks, will receive one fewer point than the player who had the lowest correct picks score for the week.*Please note that this rule will apply only for the first seven weeks of the season. In the past, a player would have received zero points for missing that week's picks. This system will hopefully allow people that are new to the league a seven-week grace period to not give up if they miss a week in fear of falling behind too much.
- Beginning with the eighth week, if you miss your entire week's picks, you will be awarded ZERO points for that week.
