Happy 4th of July

Postby Steeven » Sun Jul 04, 2010 3:02 pm

Happy 4th of July to all my fellow Americans out there.

The 4th is usually a tough time for us.

My son, who is a high-functioning Autistic, doesn't do well with all the explosions.

So far this year, he's been doing good.

I have to work tonight, so that sucks, but I know that all the wife has to do is shut up all the windows and turn on the two AC window units and he won't hear much.

But, like I said, he's doing good with what he's heard so far. He makes his poppa proud.

Anyway, enjoy your 4th.

What did you do?

Did everyone get back with all their fingers and toes?

Happy 4th to you as well!

My family is away. My wife has a reunion in her hometown, but I had to work this week. So it's just me and the pooch. I was going to walk him to my Mom's bbq but it's wayyy too hot.

Long story short, not much going on here!

I hope your son doesn't have a tough time tonight.

Though I didn't get home until the kids were in bed, sounds like Simon is pretty much over his fear of fireworks.

As a matter of fact, he was apparently pretty upset that he had to go to bed and miss some of the fireworks that were going off around the neighborhood.

That's my boy :)

Went to the beach for the weekend and got a little crispy, not as bad as my wife though. She is hurting a little but she seems to be better today. Over all she loved the trip and the sunburn didn't ruin it for her.

I was at parties Sat and Sunday, and finally had some time in the pool on Sunday. I actually swam a few laps, not just splash around, something I have not done in years. So far, not too sore.

Monday I finally, after promising to do it all spring, has a chance to clean out the garage. I even managed to organize my tools a little, at least to the point where I can find things again. Heck, I even have two complete socket wrench sets again.

It was 99 at one point, I don't know what the actual high was. I went back to my neighbor's pool after the garage. I needed it by that point.

Had a pretty busy weekend. Family reunion Saturday and party at my dads Sunday. Closed the shop yesterday, I figured we would be pretty dead. I used that time to accidentally achieve a nice lobsteresque color on my face.

Our neighbors actually lit off their fireworks on the 5th . . . it was raining on the 4th . . . but by the time we realized that they were going to do that the kids were already in their jammies.

But they were able to sit in front of our large, front window and watch them. They were very polite and clapped after each one went off.
