Kidney Stone!

I go up this morning to get the kids ready for school, letting the wife sleep in as she's been sick.

I was only up for twenty minutes when a slow pain started in my gut. It felt like a big ole gass bubble, so I gave it no further thought.

The kids went off to school . . . and I threw up.

I called in sick for work, thinking I just got the super cold that Karen had.

Then my back started to hurt . . . right about where my kidneys are.

Then the pain became unbearable.

I woke the wife up, told her what was happening, and told her I was going to the hospital.

She stayed home and made arrangements to have someone here to get the kids when they came home from school then followed shortly behind.

So yeah . . . I got me a kidney stone that's about 3 milimeters around.

They've sent me home and I'm drinking tons of water and waiting for it to pass.

I'll be putting something together about my adventure to post on my blog, but for now I'm riding the snake they call hydrocodone.

I may go take a nap.

Woke up this morning in no pain.

I'm a little worried about that as the kidney stone has not yet passed.

I'm staying home from work today in hopes that today is the day that I give birth to a jagged piece of calcium . . . so I'm drinking a lot of water . . . a lot of water.

Next time a lady tells you "You can't understand the PAIN of childbirth!", you can reasonably argue that you do. Hope it passes soon!

Have you thought of names for your little bundle of joy yet?

I am thinking Stoney if it's a boy or Urethra if it's a girl....

if it were girls it would be pebbles.... and male stones would certainly be Kieth, Mick, Bill & Charlie... that is if you go so far as to name them. Subsequently, this got me to thinking would there be an appropriate "Stones" song for passing stones??? "Bitch" came to mind as did "Satisfaction" but not sure those are just right.
