Coffee

Postby Steeven » Wed Jun 30, 2010 11:18 am

Who drinks coffee?

How to like your coffee?

Do you do coffee at home or go to a coffee house or convenience store to get it?

Me . . . I like cream and sugar. I usually just drink what we make at home, which it Maxwell House Master's Blend, which I like. Or I drink what they have at work, which is Folgers, which is not so great.

Not a big coffee house guy, but only because I can't afford it. I'm a Low Rent Fanboy.

I am a coffee snob. I like big bold flavors. Usually MY Country or region of choice is Northern africa and arabia.

My favorite coffee in the world is Arabian Mocha Sunani which comes from Yemen. It sells for about 18 a pound. it is not always available because the corps are very inconsistent and a lot of places are taking a moral stand against countries that kill americans. ( which i actually commend, not the killing but the not selling part.)

Right now my Back up coffee is Starbucks Africa(RED), or when in a supermarket it is Sumatra.

I Drink my coffee black.

See, I figure that the fact that I put cream and sugar in my coffee, it doesn't matter what I drink . . . am I right?

If I'm wrong I'll start trying other stuff.

I will say that I have a Sister-In-Law that used to live in Costa Rica. Once in a while she's come back to the states for a visit and she's bring me some of the local coffee. That was always good.

Yeah Cream and Sugar does hide the subtle nuances of the different regions. I would say that if you find yourself by a starbucks try the bold one out instead of the "normal" one which i think they call Pike's Place. See if you can taste a difference after you add your condiments.

Large Mocha, only one pump of chocolate, extra espresso shot.

One of the advantages/disadvantages (depending on your point of view) to owning a restaurant is that I hold the keys to the espresso machine. Its not only a perk, its a responsibility. When i worked in a coffeehouse in college we used to have espresso drinking contests based on the drinking contest in Raiders of the Lost Ark, only the loser was the first one to get out of his or her chair for any reason. My record was 11. That night I could see through time...

I'm a Starbucks fiend - whether it's considered 'proper coffee' or not I just love it.
Cafe Creme Frappacino's are amazing at the moment, but I always look forward to their Christmas Menu (Egg nogg lattes... *drools*).

I am with Mr. Palmer I am a coffee snob. I honestly can't stomach folgers or maxwell house. At home I generally brew up Caribou Coffee - Caribou Blend which is a really good light coffee. I usually will drink whatever dark blend that starbucks is brewing while there I beleive my favorite is probably Cafe Verona but I do enjoy the Sumatra and Kona Blends as well. Some starbucks locations started selling Jamaican Blue Mountain as of yesterday which is generally a $40 a bag coffee but no locations close to me :-(. I generally like mhy coffee either black or with very little cream no sugar. I don't generally go for flavored coffee unless it is Highlander Grogg which is really good stuff. If I get a latte it is usually a Caramel Latte.

On another note if you want to screw with a barista order a iced cafe americano hold the shot.

I like my coffee like I like my women, black! (it's a joke, I've been married to an African American hottie for 12 years now). I prefer to drink at home made in my own pot. I like to experiment some, I love cinnamon and coffee beans roasted in and with cinnamon and for a time, I could not find any so I would add ground cinnamon sticks in with my coffee grounds. I prefer to buy the beans and grind it myself, and I do drink it black.

Usually just cream and sugar on the Keurig at the shop. If im in a fancy mood, i'll stroll down to the place on the corner and get a latte with one shot of peppermint. the coffee there is expensive, but the girl that runs it, well, i don't mind the cost is what im saying.

Just tried Starbucks Summer seasonal yesterday, The Gazebo Blend, Usually it is way too mild for me in years past, but this year it was a nice bold mix.

I probably drink 2 to 3 pots of coffee a day (which I'm certain has nothing to do with the limited amount of sleep I get). I like a mild columbian coffee. Those african and arabian beans area WAY too acidic for me. I don't like them at all. And I have yet to have a good cup of coffee at starbucks (and you'd think it would be amazing for $3.50 a cup).

The best coffee ever is the regular Dunkin Donuts whole bean. Grind it, brew it, love it.

And I drink my coffee with just a splash of milk (whole milk at home & skim when I'm at work)

I am not picky, I like coffee, usually have at least one a day during winter, less in summer. I am happy with "instant" as well as properly brewed.

I have milk and sugar.

A large Regular Coffee at Starbucks is $2.00 which is actually less than a Large Regular Coffee from Dunkin Donuts around here.

Yes their Specialty Drinks can get pricey but regular coffee not so much.

This year I finally picked up a coffee press, which has been super awesome. Lately, I’ve been trying different blends between Kaldi’s (local STL) and Intelligensia (Chicago). No cream. Just a bit of stevia or agave nectar sweetener.
