I enjoyed this episode a lot as we get to play to our varying strengths. Jordan obviously watches way more TV than I do.

I tried Glee and it was "meh" to me. I watched the pilot of Rubicon on line and am interested as it reminds me of the interesting conspiracy episodes of the XFiles (think first few seasons).

And Jordan, there is no way you can convince me that JMS's whole "Spider-Totem" thing wasn't a lump of Kaka, even if they are spinning a better story out of it now. I thought the original Hal Jordan/Parallax thing was dookie as well, although Geoff Johns was definitely able to make a silk purse out of that particular sow's ear. I will check out Grim Hunt in trade but it will take a very good story to change my mind about mysticism in Spider-Man.

Let's just say sir, that some dialogue in #635 makes me think that the current writers on ASM feel similarly to you about the Spider-Totem.

I think the thing that bothered me the most was that Peter Parker was some sort of "Chosen One". One of the main plot pillars of Spider-Man is that Peter is an everyman, a nobody who lucked into spider powers and thus became somebody not because of his powers but because of how he chose to use them. Making him some sort of Kwisatz Haderach kind of goes against one of the main tenets of the hero.

Ken has been trying to get me to read Spidey since Brand New Day started...

Book 2 of Avatar blows away Book 1 - great series. I would rank the show in the top ten of all time for quality and entertainment value.

For a cartoon, they establish depth in all the characters and you understand the size and scope of the places they visit and the enemies they face. It's a terrific journey.

I'm going to be watching one of those Dragon Dynasty Best Buy exclusives tonight. Legend of the Black Scorpion!!! Sounds awesome anyway.
