The Case of The Too Many Batman Titles

Postby Pamp » Sat Jan 22, 2011 6:40 pm

So, I'm essentially getting every Bat title right now. I can't say I'm digging every title right now. I hang on though, because I'm guessing there will be crossing over and whatnot. I am on the verge of dropping Batman and Robin, Detective, and Batman. The storylines just aren't wowing me, considering all of the build up to get to this point.

I guess what I'm looking for is a) other opinions and b) someone to convince me the titles are worthwhile or dropable.

I have tried all of them since Batman Inc. started. I absolutely love Detective and I though Dark Knight #1 was really good. Batman and Batman Inc. did nothing for me and I'm not buying any more.

I need to give Detective another look. I liked Batman Inc., and I'm not even a fan of Morrison.

You may want to keep Batman ans Robin. Tomasi is going to be the writer. He wrote Green Lantern Corp (One of my favs.) and is co-writing brightest day. Give his ark a try before you drop it. I'm picking it up because of him.

As for the literal "Batman" titles, I'm really enjoying Batman Inc. and Detective Comics. I've read some of Batman, Batman & Robin, and Dark Knight, and they've been okay, potentially good.

But if you don't want to read all of them, don't--it really doesn't seem necessary, as they all have their own tone and singular in their own stories.

I am all about the Batman. Been a few that weren't tops, but all in all I love the Bat books.

I keep current on:

Batman, Batman and Robin, Detective and Batgirl. Batgirl has been great! I also think the Batman Inc. was an ok idea. Dick being the bat works so well that keeping Bruce busy with Batman Inc. allows to continue the awesomeness that is Dick as Batman. I also think Damian works well as Robin to the Dick Batman better than if the Batman was his dad.
