Secret Avengers #2 (Spoilers)

Postby bwhancock » Thu Jul 01, 2010 6:48 am

Thought this was a mediocre issue, but I loved the first issue of this series. This seemed more about getting people in certain spots for next issue confrontation with Nova.

Moon Knight without his cape did look odd.

Still will pick it up however.

I actually dug it. I liked the whole creepy outer space ruins scene. Reminded me of Aliens or The Sphere. I also like the Nick Fury angle. He knows stuff that they don't, which is classic Fury.

I like most of it, but some of the scene transitions were a bit odd.(with the same red landscape and similar uniforms on almost all the characters it was sometimes dificult to tell when they had switched back and forth)

yeah taht is what killed me, I too loved the first issue, But i am not a big marvel person so i do not know a lot of the characters. Moon Knight just looked very strange almost black panther like. and was that Steve Rogers? Was he in the first issue, (the true sign that you read too many comics is forgetting what happened previously), and the fact that hsi and Ant Man's Costume were identical until they put on helmets. For a 3.99 book i want more then just, Okay here ya guys go i need to get these characters from point a to point B which in the old days would take a page at most but know we will take 15 issues to happen. I hate this deconstructed non sense. I'll give it one more issue.

I'm just glad to be able to buy two books a month that have Moon Knight in them.

And I love Deodato's art.

in Bru i trust, is what i've been saying. i like this more than Avengers, so far. there's a creepy, unknown element that makes me want to keep reading. i agree about the costumes in space, though. sometimes, it's a bit hard to tell 'em apart.

my question...is that really fury? guess we'll eventually find out, for sure...

I agree with Brad, Moon Knight's use in this book have made this book feel a lot more black ops (yes I understand the irony of the black ops statement). I did find the space suits a little confusing, but I feel that it would be weird for everyone to have custom made space suits in their repetoire of uniforms. I hope that Nova is used a little less bumbling in future issues.

After this second issue (which was just OK), I think I’m going to make a decision on whether to keep reading or not by the end of this first arc. I think the team really isn’t doing it for me and I’m not enjoying Deodato as much as I did back in the Thunderbolt days.
