This is another "Something huge is happening, but once it's done nothing will change" event. Not down with it.

Well it's Elseworlds isn't it?

The Flash book deals with changing the past and time travel so Flashpoint is about changing the past and turning the current world into an "elseworld". Then they fix it and all is normal.

I find this stuff interesting, but the new Flash Johns reboot really didn't grab me and I'm not reading enough other DC to know what's going on.
Right now, I'm only reading Detective and Dark Knight for DC books.

I think I'm going to skip this event. If I hear good things then I may get it in trade.

I'll get a few of the tie ins but not all of them unless I hear really good things about them

I think I'll stay away from this one, everyone who has been talking about it, still has no idea exactly what this event is about.
Personally I think this is horrible marketing on the part of DC, you want everyone to get behind an event that they know nothing about? It doesn't make much business sense to me. I realize the part of mystery and intrigue is there but at the very least they could come out and say "Hey this is where Flash is exploring all of the 51 other Earths, or like Elseworlds? Check these out!"

Johns take over of Flash didn't grab me either. At least not the way he did with Green Lantern. However, the last 4 issues of Flash really got interesting and I think the first issue of Flashpoint was good. At least good enough to draw me in.
I am, however, not thrilled about the number of tie in issues that DC is putting out there. I hope the story is easy enough to follow and have a good time without having to buy all 22 related books in June alone! When that list came out for the June books I felt a disturbance in the Force.....as if thousands of geek's wallets all cried out at once, but then were suddenly silenced....

This is an obscene number of tie-ins.

and so when DC adds more to the market, its a bad thing? Yet if Marvel continues its standard practice of flooding the market with Cap/Thor/latest movie minis, its just business as usual? I see this as DC is adapting to a more aggressive stance for publishing. DC does not make me buy the floppies.. I still have control of my wallet
