For the most part, I'm very excited. I've been so overwhelmed by the constant events and crossovers, I'm hoping this is a fresh start for DC. But the cynic in me thinks "they will eventually just go bad to making the same mistakes as before. Focusing on the older readers, and alienating new readers."

Remember Ultimate Marvel? Everything was fresh and new, and not bogged down by continuity. But guess what? It eventually got to where Ultimate Marvel got as complicated as the standard Marvel universe.

The cynic in me is expecting more events, very few single issues stories, lots of crossovers, and very little lasting chains to characters to create a sense of legacy.

Let's hope I'm wrong.

One more thought:DC needs to either reboot the stories, and not change history at all. Anythin in-between seems like a waste to me.

It's either a big jumping on point, or a big jumping off point. Haven't decided which it will be for me. (probably jumping on, but who knows)

*Shrugs* That's a generational thing though.

Being more comfortable to read is generational?

Complaining about having to read computer screens tends to be.

I'd like to think I am young (30) and I don't want to sit at my computer to read as well.

All I know is that people my age don't generally complain about reading things on their computers. I don't know if that's because we grew up doing it or because our eyes are just young, but that's what I tend to hear.

Doesn't this Announcement just mean that everything coming out until then is pointless?!?
All these books I ordered and haven't been to the shop to pick them up are they just useless?!?

I wonder if it's also a desktop vs laptop argument? I have a laptop so I can go sit on the couch with it if I want to.

Another option of course is birth-control. :P
