I have been thinking a lot about how much has changed since I came back to reading comics in 2004. Most of the 90's I was almost an exclusive Spiderman fan. When I came back to comics I read most everything that DC was publishing but Batman was easily my favorite character. But lately I would easily say that Captain America is my favorite with Daredevil being a very very close second. In general I am loving the Marvel books!! What about you guys? Who was your favorite when you got into comics? Who is your favorite now?

Actually, my three favorite characters now were also three of my favorite when I started reading about 8 years ago. Spider-Man, Cable, and Deadpool. I recognize the the two later characters have a lot of craptastic books on their resumes, but I still love the characters.

I re-started in 2002 or so. Then it was Iron Man because of Extremis with Wolverine Batman for the familiarity. Still love Iron Man and Wolverine, but for way different reasons. Batman has been very uneven in that time and haven't read any lately. Due to Brubaker, Daredevil, Cap and Iron Fist have jumped to the front for me as well.

Wolverine bar none. I know it's cliche now but I've been a huge Wolverine fan since I started reading comics hard core in the mid 80's.

When I started in the 90s it was Spider-Man, Flash, and X-Men. Early 2000s Spider-Man, Green Lantern, Flash, and Nightwing. Now Spider-Man, Avengers, Thor, and Cap. Well most of the Marvel stuff.

When I was kid, before I started reading comics, I was all about Superman . . . then it was Spider-Man.

Once I started reading comics, Wolverine quickly became my favorite.

Nowadays . . . that's a tought one . . . I like more Image books . . . so I'd say Proof or Invincible.

When I was much younger and not an official collector, my favorite characters were Flash, Aquaman, and Captain Marvel.

Now? Captain Marvel (still), Martian Manhunter, The Ray (Ray Terrill), The Confessor (Astro City), and Ambush Bug.

The Demon has been and will always be my favorite character.

My favorites when I started reading in the 80's were GIJoe and Uncanny.

Twenty-five years later, despite the fact that I read a lot of comics of various companies and characters, my favorite titles today are GIJoe and Uncanny...

Little Kid: Superman, Spiderman, Batman
Older kid: those 3 plus Sgt Rock
College: Sgt Rock, FireArm
Nowadays: I liked the latest Blue Beetle, don't get JLI or Teen Titans or wherever he is now. Liking Tim Drake (Wayne) more and more. Still like Sgt. Rock, though he don't have a book (Not complaining, when they put one out it sells 10k or so.) Still getting Superman and Batman. Enjoying Chew. Y, Mitchell Hundred, Bigby, Jack, Snow White, Rose Red. Dead Shot and Catman are interesting.

When I was uber casual back in the day I really dug Gambit on the X-men.

Now that I read weekly?

Marvel: Jamie Madrox is the man when Peter David writes him.

DC: Booster Gold has been My boy since 52. Always will be.

And no matter what Dani Moonstar will ALWAYS have a spot in this crippled heart.

Indiana Jones got me into comics. I still have the entire Marvel run.

Now, I'd say Batman and Spider-Man.

Back in the day, Thor and Ironman. Today, Green Lantern and Jonah Hex.

When I was young and not collecting comics my favorite was Superman. When I began collecting comics part-time then full time in 2004-2005 they were Cassie Hack of Hack/Slash and Ultimate Spider-man. Currently my favorites are Ultimate Spider-man, Deadpool, the new Blue Beetle and the new Ultimate Avengers team.

Mid 1970s-Richie Rich, Captain America, and Nova.
Today-Captain America, Nova, Rocketeer.

I seem to be the old fart of the forums. Maybe Jim can chime in and I won't feel as bad. lol

I was introduced to super heroes through TV - the Super Friends, Spider-Man, FF - and for me, my favorites were Flash and Green Lantern.

When I started reading comics in the early 80s, I tended toward newer series (those high issue numbers scared me off), but the one comic I got regardless of the issue numbers was The Flash.



Those Infantino/Janson covers were pure brilliance.

Today, the one character that still pulls at my heartstrings, is Barry Allen (though I do love Wally West as a character, too, especially the evolution of his character in that first post-Crisis series), and with Blackest Night, Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis put Barry back where he belongs. I am really looking forward to the "Flash Point" event and to getting the new series in trade, and this is coming from an indy-centric reader now.

And my 1A character would definitely be Morpheus/Sandman by Neil Gaiman. I've double and triple dipped with this series, and Mr. Umak can attest to my slight fanaticism with the character. My statues, most of which are Sandman-related, can be found .

when i started in the 90's it was Spiderman and Cable..Now is Iron Fist.I also like Snake eyes,Elektra,Daredevil,Nick Fury,Ares,Secret Warriors,storm shadow

when i began reading in grade school (which was about 20 or so years ago) hands down, it was wolverine. though i didn't get every book he was in, mostly for financial reasons. haha! right now, my favorite characters are Iron Fist, Bucky and Casanova. i've learned to like Cyclops as well, but you guys didn't really read that.
