Finally, a Verizon iPhone...maybe?

Postby Ken » Tue Jun 29, 2010 3:43 pm

Frankly I'll believe it when I see it. I've seen stories exactly like this for a while now. I KNOW eventually it will happen, but I hate being led on. I was all set to get a HTC Incredible in a month or so, but if I do and the iPhone comes to VZW I'd hate myself.

UGH!

Apple never announces or leaks things until they happen - it's cool, but can be frustrating as a consumer at times.

Omg, I hope they just release it already!

It ain't right that you Verizon people have to keep searching for the right phone.

I totally hope so. AT&T needs some competition to help lower the prices for the iPhone plans.

I don't think I'll get an iphone if it comes to Verizon. I'm very happy with my Droid

I still don't see it happening any time soon. I've heard rumors that the original deal with Apple and AT&T was 5 years. Which would leave almost two years.

Whats going to be funny is when it does happen, and Apple sells another 600,000 + iPhones to Verizon customers on day one, and the next day.

Verizon's network comes crashing down under the weight of a million iPhones all connecting to the network at once!

I finally had the chance to see the new iPhone over lunch. Definitely felt nice, but wasn't that overwhelmingly awesome that I would want to upgrade from my 3GS at the moment.

I think Apple was looking to break contract with AT&T and that's where the rumors started. All of a sudden, i went from no service in my backwoods house, to full 3g service overnight. I think apple basically told AT&T "hey, fix your network or we're leaving, those verizon commercials aren't making us very happy"

I've had the iPhone and it wasn't the phone for me, it doesn't matter what the price of the phone is, the price of the plan or what carrier it's on, I will NEVER go back. Apple does not make products for me. While the stuff the make is VERY sexy, it doesn't play well with Linux and so, is a product I'd rather not deal with. Android on the other hand, works great and is open source, following along with the philosophy of Linux, which I like

Ken, verizon corporate called, they said you're late for work.

Kwok, I would maybe agree with that, I went from a 3G to the 4 so it was a greater leap for me. video is where its at, lots of other new uses for me as well, alot of stuff that i was waiting for from the 3GS, like the Nike app, which I use for running.

Just because of contract etc, I'll probably always skip a generation.

Im a Verizon-ite and wonder why I wouldn't still lean toward the Android OS even if AT&T lets the other kids share. Personally, I can't imagine AT&T giving up exclusivity without the fight-to-end-all-fights. I've never had an Iphone but hear people rag on the AT&T half of the partnership all the time. Even Iphone users have no defense when asked about the phone's service. AT&T'll spiral out of business faster than Lindsey Lohan. IMHO.
I'd come up with a catchy signature but I'm busy right now

Ok, I obviously dont live in a major metro city or travel to a major downtown, or hell travel very much at all. But I rarely have issues with reception, mostly just some of the known dead zones in the area. Couldn't even think about anything else at this point.

The only thing is as Ken pointed out to me that the AT&T Phones have that GSM buzz which pretty much eliminates using anything like Pandora in my car with the iPhone plugged in. HOWEVER ironically in Ken's car it did work for us! LOL!
