I felt bad you guys gave this such a bad time; Weepy,?! Mopey!? I love this batman, honestly it's the best batman movie ever (including Nolan's and West's). You want to see "non-grandiose" batman movies, watch the other animated one's.
Your guys beef with batman getting beat up so easy, by Andrea, by motorcycle Fonzies, is pretty consistent through out btas, he's not nearly as powerful as he is in the books, or even later in the series, he's always getting clocked in the back of the head and getting beat on. Anyway...

Like I said on the other forum--which I assume is going the way of the dodo--I LOVE this movie. It's second only to Dark Knight in terms of overall Batman movies, IMO.

Until TDK came out this was my favorite Batman movie by far. the voice acting is top-notch and we get to see the heart and sacrifice of Bruce Wayne and the choices he has made and must live with. Adult themes, serious storyline and a love interest for Bruce that didn't seem forced or tacked on.

Mopey? Weepy? More like insightful and poignant. It makes this version of BW/batman much more three-dimensional in my eyes; deep down he wants what we all want, someone to love, a family, personal happiness, but his choice to be batman makes all of that impossible. thats what we call tragedy in the old storytelling biz.

It was intentional that the BTAS batman was a little more human and believable. Bruce Timm said they did the same thing to Supes in the STAS. Without challenges there is no drama. If you knew straight up that batman would easily win every fight he was in you would be reading a Silver Age comic.
