So I always hear about folks and their sketchbooks.
I am going to be trying to hit Boston's Con and maybe CGS Super Show I am curious where I could buy an empty blank one.
Also some tips on getting sketches.

I bought two of these and am happy with them.
You can get these in a few different sizes and can also find them at walmart/target/michaels/etc.
As far as getting sketches is concerned, I suggest having a budget, look at the guest list and make a plan for who you want to get a sketch from. The bigger name creators obviously charge more than a little up and comer who maybe attending the show. I've had success with both! Most of the artists have a price list on their table and if they don't, just ask them if they are sketch and for how much. If your theme is of random character(s) then print some reference for the artist. If you are getting Batman then no reference should be needed.
This is all I can think of off the top of my head, but I've purchased a lot of art in my day so if you have any questions, ask away!!

Whoa, super late response, but I've been loving getting sketches lately, so here's my two cents.
I don’t have too much experience (I’ve only been to one con), but here’s what helped me:
-Art stores have nice sketchbooks. I specifically looked for something with really thick paper (so things wouldn’t bleed if markers/ink were used), spiral bound (ease of drawing) and pages that can be removed (in case I wanted to get something framed)
-Get there early, especially if it’s someone pretty big.
-Keep an ear out for special signings sponsored by others. It’ll be a great chance to score some free sketches from bigger pros. They won’t be super detailed, but at least it’s free!
-Browse their websites ahead of time to get an idea of how much they charge or even if they’re doing sketches at that con
Good luck! It was my favorite part of the con and I’m hooked now!
