Recommend a Book - Horror

Postby Steeven » Fri Jul 02, 2010 1:40 pm

You like the scary books?

Do you know of one or two that you think people should be out there reading?

This is the place to do it . . . recommend that book already!

Plague of the Dead by Z.A. Recht.

A really freaking good zombie story.

H.P. Lovecraft, I read loads of his stuff while at college after playing the RPG. Some of it is quite hard going but the mythology's excelent

These are pretty well known, but World War Z is an awesome Zombie apocalypse book.

The Strain was a really great Vampire-ish book by Guillermo Del Toro. It was a planned TV series turned novel.

I am the co-host of the TWO TRUE FREAKS PODCAST . I have been alternately described as a "hellish jumble of mismanaged parts" and a "humble God".

Pressure by Jeff Strand. Great book, but man did that leave me a wreck after I read it.

Here's some of my favorite scary books:

1. The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty
2. The Books Of Blood By Clive Barker
3. Dante's Inferno
4. The Strange Case of Charles Dexter Ward by HP Lovecraft
5. Necroscope by Brian Lumley

The books of blood are top (shame about some of the sh##ty films that got made) and I loved the necroscope books at first but they started to loose it for me after a while.
