Great show. Frank Miller, more so than I think anyone else is to blame for the direness of comics in the 90s and the remnants of it are still felt today. Plus, not a big fan of his art either. He can be striking and boring at the same time. That said, I like his mainstream superhero writing up until Sin City and his creator owned stuff became his major focus. The 90s was everyone trying to out Miller , well Miller himself. And it bombed. I don't mind dark and gritty, but geez, batman can be a loner and edgier than Superman(rightfully so, I think), but what Miller and Morrison have done to him is atrocious. That being said, Alex Ross' art is fucking amazing. I can't draw for shit, so art in comics to me is mostly the same, it tells the story. I can only point out when I really hate a style or artist, or pop raging wood over them. Ross' stuff gives me a serious case of Nerd Priaprism. I know he's a douche, but the skill and craftsmanship on his stuff is astounding to me. Every comic should look like that. Okay, let me get my fire retardant blanket on......

At the altar of rock 'n' roll you kneel.

Is chained in the devil's locks,
And slain by the bloody axe I wail!"
