Skyfall from the trailer looks more like Casino Royale in mood. It has more of a tinker tailor soldier spy feel too.

Plus, I'm interested to see what is in store for M

Great show gentlemen. I have not seen it but the show Mythbusters supposedly debunked the skin asphyxiation theory as seen in Goldfinger.

My copy of the Bond 50 Blu ray box set arrived this weekend. Just got done watching For Your Eyes Only. Picture quality is fantastic (I have a Samsung LCD). Decent extras, including series producer Micheal G. Wilson, Movie trailer, TV Spots, And Radio spots as well. I love it.

I love how stripped down FYEO is. Plus, Moore definitely gets to pull some cold Connery-esque shit in it.

The theme song for Skyfall just hit the net. I really like it.

Boring, like 95 percent of the theme songs. Who the hell is Adele? Shit was like a lullaby. Let's do Hair-Metal Hero's Bond themes breakdown.

Dr No. : Introduces the Bond theme...works great.
From Russia with Love: Instrumental again...works great.
Goldfinger: Just the right kind of 60s cheese, and Bassey has serious pipes.
Thunderball: I dig Tom Jones, but the song is crappy and boring.
You only live twice: Fuck Nancy Sinatra.
OHMSS: Lively, rousing and look, another instrumental! The best so far.
Diamonds are forever: Goldfinger mark II, meh.
Live and Let Die: Fucking great song.
The man with the golden gun: Love this one, cheesy and fun and bouncy.
The spy who loved me: Fuck Carly Simon
Moonraker: boooooring.
FYEO: ahh, the 80s, my decade...but the song sucks.
Octopussy: Lazy and boring....probably the worst theme in the entire list.
AVTAK: Yeah! This one is fun.
Living Daylights:And its boring again.....
Licence to Kill: Way too Motown for a bond film.
Goldeneye: I dig this one, Tina Turner baby!
Tomorrow never dies:Fuck Sheryl Crow
The World is not enough: I dig Shirley Manson, but this song blows.
Die Another Die: Wait, this is the worst theme in the list. So wrong on all fronts. And Fuck Madonna.
Casino Royale: Cornell's voice is beast mode on this, like this one a lot.
QOS: Meh. Jack white and whatever her name is...not a good pairing.

I never care who does the theme because its always going to suck, and I'm going to skip it on the DVD anyway. I know they try to keep current with the trends in pop music, but I think the 60s was the only decade where it really seemed to fit.

Damn, I can't wait for Skyfall. Just the fact that Q is back means a lot to me. I understand that CR and QOS wanted to restart everything, but there are some Bond tropes that I definitely missed in those adventures. I think this Bond is ready for some tech support and more realistic gadgets, and Q playing younger than Bond will be an interesting new dynamic to play with. The fact that Bond is now shilling for Heineken bothers me though, that beer always tastes skunked to me. Craig seems more like a Guinness, Bass or Boddington's man to me. But hey, I'm the guy that loved the fact that Moore smoked stogies and drank Bourbon. We all know a real Martini is made with Gin anyway.

Everyone knows the Vesper, especially after the wonderful scene introducing the drink in Casino Royale. But that is not the only cocktail James Bond specified in the works of Fleming.

To wit: check out this link detailing Bond's prefered gin and tonic, which he ordered in the bar at the Blue Hills Hotel, overlooking Kingston Harbour in Jamiaca, while investigating the death of Strangeways and the man named Doctor No. The weather is a little cooler now than when it is normal to enjoy gin and tonic, but a good cocktail knows no timetable.

Now that Gin and Tonic...that's what I'm talking about. I've not read any of the Bond stories, and my knowledge of the character comes specifically from the films.

Awseome show! Can't wait to hear part 2 despite Scott's disdain for Pierce Brosnan. I too initially saw a lot of Bond on TBS and later through VHS tapes. My Mom wasn't keen on me seeing anything than might to be too sexually charged as a child, so the first Bond I saw the in the theater (that I'm sure of) is Goldeneye as I was approaching my mid-20's by then. By contrast I recently picked up "Die Another Day" on Blu ray on sale and it was enjoyed as "movie night" viewing with with my parents.

Glad you liked it. That episode was very much a labour of love. Not that they all aren't but that one was really fun. We are currently trying to work out a date to record part two which i am really looking forward too because of Scott's disdain for Pierce Brosnan :D

I sadly have not. I hope to rectify that this week, however!
