There is no way in hell Marvel/Disney are going to push for the internal strife angle in these films, not in any sort of lasting way. I'm sure we'll see a Hulk-Tony punch up at some point, but it won't be born out of the characters themselves going opposite paths. This movie was a crowd pleaser, and I can bet the rest of the films brandishing the Avengers title are going to strive for the same reaction. If they push ahead with Thanos, things will get darker, but not to The Dark Knight levels. And let's be honest, does any one really want to see Civil War on screen? This team just formed, lets have 5 or 6 movies with them as a team before we start to sunder it.

Finally, caught a Matinee today and the house was packed at 11:30 am...this is a legit hit. I love this movie, only wish Hawkeye could have been in costume. Purple pirate boots and all. What was perfect:
Black Widow's Butt
Banner/Hulk
Stark's one liners, "dudes playing Galaga over here"...calling Thor Point Break, etc
Nick M'F Fury
For my money the best performance went to Loki, that guy was awesome.

Also surprised at how many cameo's where in the film. Mentioning Jane Foster, having Pepper appear, but then no Betty Ross or Happy Hogan, or War Machine. Still having "Brain" appear in an Avengers movie more than made up for it.

I am the co-host of the TWO TRUE FREAKS PODCAST . I have been alternately described as a "hellish jumble of mismanaged parts" and a "humble God".

Finally saw the movie today. Definitely worth the extra week's wait which I ended up with. Just fantastic all around.

Shellhead, gotta love him. Cap was great (dug the new uniform). Thor was spot on like in his solo movie.

Mark Ruffalo definitely played a different Bruce Banner. Not sure how I feel about it because I really liked the take which Ed Norton brought to the table. That said, his Hulk is much more of a Monster Hero character than a Monster and that made all the difference in this movie. As much as I love the Hulk as a Monster (natch), in a team setting such as on the Avengers or (more commonly) the Defenders, he has to be a Monster Hero character, and that was wonderfully realized.

I also very much liked how the Black Widow was handled. Whedon did a good job of swerving the audience into thinking that she was a standard Hollywood female character in her big talky scene, only to turn the tables on both her on-screen partner and the audience at the same time. Wish she had used her Widow's Bite a little more.

That brings me to an odd piece of trivia -- Hasbro has not made a Widow's Bite roleplay toy. You can get Iron Man's repulsors (spring loaded launchers), Cap's shield (which doubles as a Frisbee which is F'N GENIUS), Thor's hammer, Hulk's fists, and Hawkeye's bow, but not a Widow's Bite. Seriously, Hasbro, throw a bone to the fangirls and little sisters of fanboys of the world, alright?

Pretty sure I was the only guy in the theater who understood the teaser.

Joss Whedon finally has made something which I enjoyed.

I liked Serenity and Firefly but I'm not a fan of his other work. It really did blow me away. And I agree that it's the man's best stuff.

I loved the first 3 seasons of Buffy(the hisghschool years) and the Firefly stuff, but this is easily my favorite thing he's ever done. I hope Marvel keeps him as this specific franchise's head honcho.

I really didn't like UA, UA2 was a little better but I think this is worthy of the Freaks commentary...

Im down for it, there's plenty to enjoy, and take issue with in that version, but its entertaining enough.
