That was a really neat display of some of the props from the Trek shows. It looked a lot nicer than the one they had out in Las Vegas, but it looked like they may have recycled the timeline that they had out there.

As for the actual Space Center, it always makes me a little sad/nostalgic when I see all the great achievements that so many brave men and women went through to further our exploration into space. I'm especially saddened that NASA has mothballed the Shuttle program and doesn't seem to have anything concrete set forth for the future. Those were some of America's, nay Mankind's, greatest achievements, and we aren't building upon them and taking that next step forward...

I agree Joe, but if you go back and read some of what NASA originally claimed it was planning to do with the Shuttle and compare it to what actually happened one can understand why the Shuttle is now considered the failure. But that's all just stupid bueracracy and a few degrees removed from good old fashioned american Astronaut-in'.

Was that a Klingon command chair too? Very awesome! Some great exhibits. What happened to that brave new era of space exploration? I mean shit I had a NASA lunchbox when iwas a kid and toy Apollo rockets and space shuttle models(dad actually helped me rename Columbia- Enterprise cause I saw the photo of it on the rec deck of the Ent from TMP) Today what do kids have for inspiration? Kennedys speech in the trailer for Trek09 was the best part of the whole reboot! What can we look forward to?

I guess that's a great question for the group what ship would you want if you were a Starfleet captain? Personally I wouldn't mind a Ambassador class ship. But that's just me.

Constitution class or the refit. "You never forget your first love." The Dreadnaught would kick some serious ass too.

You can't pick the Enterprise! I meant what class of ship dudes! A brand new captain out of Starfleet and his brand new ship, and that captain is YOU!

I like the Luna class, as featured in the Star Trek: Titan novels. It's bigger than Voyager, but not ponderously large like some of the later Enterprises. It's well suited to both combat and peacetime operations.

You got to read "A Starless World" Chris.

Actually I'd love if you did an ep of Two True Freaks on it.

Mostly because it just doesn't fit with the rest of Star Trek. Things like Kirk having gotten a guy kicked out of the Academy for cheating (yeah it was before TWOK), being said in the novel that outside of Starfleet nudity is commonplace, and before the Enterprise, Exeter, Intrepid, and such Starfleet used small one man vessels for exploration.

And I am not kidding about any of that. That's really in the book. Not saying its a bad story...just that it doesn't fit anything that came after it was published.

Just a quickie:-

The robot in LOST IN SPACE and ROBBIE THE ROBOT are different robots. The confusion seems to stem from the fact that ROBBIE appeared in an episode of LOST IN SPACE entitled WAR OF THE ROBOTS.

The opening section of the show about Kennedy was excellent. Scott, you did a great job on the running commentary (was this scripted or off the cuff?), good supplementary questions from Chris and a great and very appropriate underscore. Closest I'm going to get to being there so thank you very much. It seems like I'm as big a fan of the space programme as Scott so this segment was right up my alley (no more British gay jokes, please :) ). Possibly one of the best sections of a show I've heard you guys do.

Andy
