As a razor blade-free Halloween treat, the Freaks have cooked up an episode on those seminal 80's vampire flicks, Fright Night and Fright Night 2! It's all here, memories of the movies, tangents, speculations as to which actors went on to Fox TV shows and which went on to gay porn. You know, the usual Two True Freaks stuff. Then, on Freaks offer up a scoop on the upcoming Walking Dead TV show! Don't miss this one!

Yes, screech videotaped himself and some chicks and distributed it as "Saved by the Smell". Yes, the younger sister on Family Matters was in porno, yes, Evil Ed did indeed get plowed by dudes for money on film. Sometime the Porn Stories are very, sadly, true.

So, Fright Night. Still can't track down a copy of 2, and I've never seen it. Its going for crazy money on Ebay. Love the first one though. Great fun, great 80s feel.

Yeah, Amazon is selling copies of the 2003 DVD release new starting at $140 bucks... And the fact that the release seems to be a direct copy from VHS sounds like pretty shoddy viewing. I can't wait to listen to this one tonight, as I really enjoyed the first movie. The fact that the vampire couldn't be harmed unless the protagonist had faith in what they were doing was a nice touch.

Joe -- Did you touch on the supposed remake of Fright Night with Doctor Who #10 as Peter Vincent, Young Kyle Reese as Charley, and Bullseye as Jerry Dandridge? :? -- Anthrax

I have zero hope in the Fright Night remake as it stands. Peter Vincent looks dreadful, hate the visual cue for it and hate the magician angle they are using. Wouldn't mind seeing a trailer though.

Another fantastic movie who's legacy is destined to be shit on by a remake.

I am not sure it I have seen these movies but it seems real familiar to me.
I said what i had to say about the Walking Dead in your FB post Scott so I gonna keep from repeating myself. Glad you had fun in ATL ;). My screening location was less stellar.

Scott, you got it backwards. Tom Holland did write and direct 'Fright Night', but only wrote 'Psycho II'.

Just Googled it, and there is a website , and it could easily be turned into an app with either a smiley face or skull and crossbones displaying a celeb's life status... :)

Joe -- Wonder if the site would be willing to put the effort into an app? -- Anthrax

And congratulations for getting selected to screen the first episode of The Walking Dead. I cannot remember a show that I was this excited about watching since...Hell, Star Trek:TNG. You two deserved to go to a screening, since you had been covering the comics long before anyone had even thought about doing podcasts about the show. In fact, it was because of the CMM that I went and picked up the compendium of the first 48 issues of "The Walking Dead". I can't wait until you two get back to reviewing the comics, because I want to hear your take on the aftermath of Rick and company's encounter with The Governer and the final outcome of the prison.

I have heard that Kirkman gave Darabont free reign to do what he wanted with the series, but I think he will stick as closely to the comics as the TV narrative will let him. As for the spoiler opening that involved Morgan and his son Duane...I think it was hinted at in the trailers and I think that the emotion that it will add to the story will cement it as more than just a series about zombies and more of a series about human nature.

Joe -- Going to set my DVR as soon as I get home... -- Anthrax

Caught Fright Night 2 finally(thanks you know who). Not a bad little sequel. Regine's plan for Charley is the kind of evil I want to see from a villain. Only thing that I thought was missing was Peter Vincent's screentime, he should have been in the film more. But I guess you can argue that Fright Night is Charley's story at its core. Really dug the fact that Bram Stoker's Dracula played a large part in the film as well. So overall, Fright Night 1= 8.5/10; Fright Night 2= 7.8/10. Fun stuff.

Looking forward to listening to this one. I watched Fright Night a couple months ago and really enjoyed it. Interested to hear your thoughts on the sequel.

I watched Fright Night to prep myself for this episode. Great job, guys. I've never seen part 2 but I kind of hope that it might find its way onto one of the random movie channels Comcast seems to provide (you know, the ones that run crappy movies 24-7 or on SyFy or something).

I actually agree with your comments re: Amanda Bearse on Married ... With Children. But I have to say that after she came out, her playing Marcy as a sex-crazed nympho who more or less dominated Ted McGinley's character made her even more hilarious. Maybe it was the irony or something. Then again, I loved that show way more than most people I know.

Also, guys, Cobra didn't have Arnold in it, Sly starred in Cobra.
