Dear Listeners,
As some of you may remember, waaaaaay back last JULY (My God, has it really been that long ago already?) I was forced, by life circumstances, to take a hiatus from podcasting. While the transition didn't prove to be quite so noticeable or disruptive as feared, some of you have no doubt realized that some things were lost along the way. Our output suffered. Or, rather, my personal output suffered. Despite my best efforts, "Back To The Bins!" and "Death and the Acrid Smell of Gunsmoke: The Jonah Hex Podcast" just kinda fell to the wayside. I never meant for it to happen, but it did nonetheless.
Well, now that things are finally stabilizing somewhat in my personal and professional lives, I feel it's time to try to get back to some semblance of normality with my podcasting life. However, the sad reality is that things can NEVER go back 100% to the way they were back when we were putting out umpteen podcasts a week. Not and remain employed and wedded, anyhow. So, it's time for some tough decisions.
What I'm asking for is YOUR input. You, the listeners, ultimately determine what we produce and how we produce it. I'd like to know which shows that we used to produce do you miss most? What frequency would you like to have us produce those shows if we can resurrect them? What shows could easily remain "dead" and you couldn't care less?
For me, I LOVED doing the Jonah Hex podcast, but that show is SERIOUSLY time-intensive. So it comes down to one of two decisions (if I'm to bring it back at all) -- either scale back on the audio quality as far as the audio-book style bells and whistles and do more of a straight up review show (of which there are already like a billion of) or continue to do what I've been doing with that show, only far less frequently.
And then there's Back To The Bins! I love that show, too, but feel it IS the most easily "let go" since the basic format could be (and somewhat has been) folded into others shows that we do. So... bring it back? If so, how often and in what format? Would you dig "Back To The Bins!" as a solo show? Would you dig BTTB if it became a little more "focused" from time to time on large runs or whole series, like say ROM The Spaceknight, for example? Or is the total randomness of topics the appeal for you?
Speaking of solo shows, I would still like to do a solo project. I had planned to have one up and running by now, but again life just kinda got in the way. However, it's still on my agenda and I'd love to know what YOU, the listeners, would like to hear me blab about in a solo project. I'd love to do something with some Disney in it, but wonder if anyone would actually care to hear it.
Lastly, I know that ultimately "Tales of the JSA" is the show everyone seems to miss most. Hell, it's the show I miss most. I'm gonna be honest... I dunno what's up with the show. You may've heard the new "promo" for the return of the show that I've been plugging into recent TTF episodes. Well, I recorded that when it was our full intention to get the show up and running again. However, due to new circumstances, I just don't know. It's frustrating. I'll try to keep you informed. At the moment, sadly, the show remains on indefinite hiatus.
Feel free to chime in, listeners. I'm dying to get some input here.
Thanks for listening!
