Great job on this week's (June 23rd) episode of BttB. I'm glad you finally got Jeffrey on the show, since you then had the opportunity to have him "cut loose" and be a little more "vocal" (i.e. curse). I'm hoping there will be a few more of these round table discussions for BttB for the other three comic book movies coming out this year. I agree with you that Thor was one of the more difficult superheroes to adapt for the screen, but the film did a great job of it. Unlike Michael, I wasn't as enamored of Thor in the beginning. He came off as the typical jock douche bag that made high school unbearable. However, the redemptive arch brought me around to the character, even though as Shag said, it did feel a little rushed. The Frost Giant battle was awesome, especially since the Frost Giants themselves were actors in makeup and not CGI creations. The comedy felt a little forced (how many times can Thor get hit by a car?), but it served as a nice balance between the action and the drama. Like Green Lantern, Thor is a difficult character to sell to a mainstream movie audience. They both have cosmic origins, both feature the heroes with amazing weapons that heavily rely on special effects to present them properly, and both are not the most recognizable characters of their company's lineup. And even though I am a Green Lantern fan, I thought Thor was the better of the two movies. I can't wait to hear next week's discussion X-Men: First Class, and I'm looking forward to coverage of the rest of the comics movies of this summer.
