What did everyone think of the last issue of the series (and the series as a whole, for that matter)?

I thought it wrapped up as well as it could, under the circumstances. The team has come together nicely; I hope they get opportunities to shine in the future. Not sure what to expect from Kenji in the future; I don't feel like he's completely turned villain, but it's hard to imagine him being part of the team in the immediate future.
At the risk of repeating myself - good golly Hope has a lot of powers. In the X-Sanction thread I complained about that and I had forgotten about the powers she has that only appear in this book: stabilizing newly emerging mutants and exerting influence over them. The latter can probably be attributed to (possibly subconscious) use of the Phoenix Force. Perhaps the former could as well, but it's more of a stretch. I feel like they've lost focus with her a bit, and I fear we may never get a real answer about what she has to do with reversing M Day.

Honestly, I feel as if no one gets her character, except for Kieron Gillen.
In my opinion, years ago they had this amazing idea called Messiah Complex/War/Second Coming and they knew they'd need a baby girl. They knew they needed her to activate new lights, save the day, be super strong, be connected to the Phoenix, have mimicry times a million (so she could beat Bastion) and also do whatever she is going to do during AvX. As to who she is... I don't think they worked that bit out.
I believe the powers at be thought of everything they could possibly need to rectify House of M, sustain the X-books, hold a title and create a phoenix story, and shoved it all into Hope.

I'm sure you're right that she's the product of a variety of editorial decisions. I just wish it wasn't so easy to see the seams and spackle.

I loved the scene with Martha and Kenji and the "never had a heart to break" line. I like how things seemed to come together. Like the Kenji burgers being his way of mind controlling everyone.

didn't really feel like a last issue. x-23 #21 felt more like a last issue. (should've had two more of those though, i mean come on! X-23 #23!)

The Kenji burgers was how he was able to control everyone but the lights. The lights was following the mission in Germany with the X-Foetus.

I thought this was a decent issue, but I was kind of bummed out that in the end everyone just forgave Hope and Kenji was the bad guy... OK, so he had the mad cackling form to be a villain, but I was rooting for him the whole time. Hope is totally evil right???
Does anyone remember that X-club second coming tie-in (I think it was called "Blind Science" where Hope had taken over the world with her ability to influence mutants?
I thought the series as a whole was decent, it had ups and downs but I won't really miss it. Wolverine & the X-Men is the young mutant book of choice
