WatXM #10 & X-Men Legacy #266 (Spoilers)

I guess WatXM actually happens before Legacy, since we see Rachel and Bobby take off in both issues. Glad to see further acknowledgement of Ray's connection to the Phoenix and that she was in control (though there was that rough patch around Secret Wars II) of it in the past. Bobby mentions Jean dying twice, so I will give him the shuttle death and the Xorneto one.
Gage does a great job of revisiting Rogue's early history fighting the Avengers, but slipped a little with Kitty's history with the Phoenix. She was introduced at the beginning of the DPS, but was out of the picture when the Phoenix went totally bad. Of course, she could have been referring to when Rachel almost destroyed the M'kkran Crystal or tried to kill Selene back in the early Uncanny 200s.
Still, good stuff overall. I'm actually liking the tie-ins way more than the series proper. Thoughts?

First of all: And don't give me that crap about how he left with three of Wolverine's teachers. It ain't about that. It's about who's the one who got called out on his smack talk, lost his base, raised the white flag, admitted defeat, and begged for help. Y'know from now on, it's all good in the hood. What happens from now on, if Cyclops ends up saving the day, good on him. But let it be known that Cyclops' vision of a Utopia is -and has always been, a poo-topia.

Also, this was hands down the best issue of Legacy I've ever read. No joke. Better than any issue Mike Carey has ever done. Gage gets my seal of approval, and I hope that he sticks around. This is basically just as good as the WATX issue, which is something I've been waiting for, for a long and obsessive amount of time.
Fuckin intrusive Avengers. Yet another reason I like the new Frenzy. She got shitty, shit-ass Moon Knight all shook! Great art as well, except for Rogues hair.

Corwin, do us all a favor and email that to all the current X-Writers and the folks writing the event book. The apparently need a refresher.

I thought most of the characters articulated their positions well in these books. Even though some tough decisions were made, I was glad that none of the characters burned bridges with the school.
Glad to see some developments for Angel and Genesis; I was afraid their story would get completely sidelined by this event.
It was good to see Rachel's history referenced. I'm withholding judgment on how this story fits into the Phoenix history until its all over, since there's a lot in play right now. The Iron Fist connection seems a bit of a stretch, but I'm still not convinced that isn't a bit of misdirection.
"I'll hold her down. You carve us off some earrings."

I thought Gage's staff briefing, which the review isn't fond of, was actually quite good. Loving Gage on this book at the moment.

That review is awful.
"Making things worse are the flashbacks to Rogue’s first battle with the Avengers, which, despite adding to the story later, remain unexplained until the fifth page."
Seriously...?
IGN are terrible. Stick to computer games imo.

Really anything tying into AvX is garbage. It should have the subtitle of "Let Us Fight". I think I'm gonna drop WATX till this over. I'm on the edge.

That was one sh!tty review. Makes me want to start writing again.
The writer seriously wanted the flastback explained sooner than page five? WTF?

So I am a little confused. It says that the events in WatXM #10 takes place 3 hours after the battle on Utopia. Therefor, I take it the events of WatXM take place before Captain America dumped Wolverine in the tundra on the way to the Savage Land. Which means that Wolverine knew that Rachel was siding with Cyclops and not the Avengers when they asked Rachel to locate Hope with Cerebra. Why would Wolverine and the Avengers seek assistance from a traitor to their cause? If Wolverine knew she was with Cyclops, he would assume that she would have a bias. I even believe in AvX #3, Wolverine finds it a little unbelievable that Cerebra is giving five locations for Hope. If he has a suspicion, why not call her out? And why is Marvel paying editors that are supposed to catch things like this.
