Cable and X-Force #1 Discussion [Spoilers!]

Anyone check out this issue yet? It's pure set up, but I like the team enough. I didn't mind Larocca's art. It was much less photo realistic than his latest attempt. I'm sticking around for issue 2.
I had one pet peeve. Dr. Nemesis is a genius. He wouldn't be making simple grammatical mistakes. "Whom you've now wrecked" not "Who you've now wrecked."

...Basically, what you said. I don't know if there's really anything else to say. The characters, dialogue, and situation was all solid and compelling enough to give the next issue a read.

I think that it's off to a solid start. I'm happy to see Cable and Hope together again.

Can I donate some money so the X-Men will buy Hope a new cape?

You know when Kyle and Yost's X-Force was first announced and we were like, "man, this is so 90s and will be extreme and terrible" but then wasn't, well Cable and X-Force felt a bit like the 90s book we feared we were getting with a relaunched book.
Not terrible but not great either.

I was a little underwhelmed by this one, but perhaps just because it was one of my more anticipated Marvel NOW! books (mainly due to the cast).
I didn't get much of a sense of what the book will actually be about, beyond the fact that it is the book about these particular characters. But why are these characters coming together? OK, so Cable needs Forge and Dr Nemesis to fix him. Hopefully when Domino and Colossus get recruited, it will be more clear what the goal of this team is. (For comparison, Avengers #1 or All New X-Men #1 do a much better job of setting out the themes of their respective titles.)
I'll still give it a shot, but my enthusiasm is tempered a bit.

And after they've explained away the deaths of those people, what then for the book?

Who was the guy that did the art for the preview story, where Cable goes to find the wacked out crazy Forge. I thought that guy would be doing the art and I was really excited for the book. I love Cable. Or at least the idea of Cable. The execution of the character has been less than ideal but when I saw the preview I thought, this looks cool. Larocca's art is certainly his best in a while here but it's more suited to a cheesecake book like maybe Extreme. Being over Domino'd in the other title, I can't remember if it's Adjectiveless or Astonishing since they are both so horrible and unremarkable, doesn't help this book. Thank the good lord Fuck that Psylocke isn't in this book. Could be better, could be worse.

This is more of stupid OT question. But when cataloging this book, would I.put it with Cable or with X-Force? I know I could follow what I do with WATX and group it with X-Men as it's more a X-Men title than Wolverine. But this one seems more Cable than X-Force. Anyone?

I never heard about this being connected to the new UXF--there's a tie-in to Uncanny Avengers, in that they're the ones who are trying to catch Cable and his crew.

Okay, fair enough. I would probably assume that would be a cross-over story-arc, and wouldn't really interconnect for the entire series(es).
