New to the forums, so I’m going to catch up on this thread in one big go.

Even though I have enjoyed almost every version of Transformers, I agree with Chuck, G1 all the way baby!

I gave Beast Wars a good effort when it originally aired to try and like it but I couldn’t, and after watching it with my son on Netflix, I still don’t.

The Dinobots are cool. They are not the dumb headed characters that the animated series portrayed them as. I can see people not liking them for that reason. Even though it’s ingrained into the male DNA to like robots and dinosaurs, the combination of both clearly equal awesome.

Transformers Comics – I never kept up with the Marvel run, they were hard to find in the small town I grew up in, that is not stopping me from reading Regeneration One. I did not read any of the Dreamwave stuff and I jumped on board IDW’s run a few issues before Chaos started. I really like both of the ongoing titles. I like More Than Meets the Eye a bit more than Robots in Disguise because it has little drops of all the outer space television shows I used to watch growing up. Both have something unique about it, are well written and each issue leaves me wanting more. I need to delve into IDW’s back log but have no idea where I want to start.

I cannot wait for Fall of Cybertron! Grimlock, Metroplex, Bruticus, Shockwave! As my daughter says, ZOMG!!!

I cannot gush enough about Transformers Prime. The cg is good, I like the characters, the stories are well done and well executed and the soundtrack is awesome. If you have not listened to the soundtrack, you need to. Brian Tyler nailed the music for series and it adds great depth to an already great series.

My favorite combiner is Devastator, followed by Bruticus and Superion.

I had both of those Transformers lunchboxes, the punchout book, the sticker book and I remember having two coloring where the characters were drawn like the toys, and not how the characters looked in the cartoon or comics.

I would love to have a transforming General Lee; I think we could say that about all of the iconic 80’s vehicles. I will add in there that I always wanted a Prowl in the guise of TJ Hooker’s police cruiser.

I got the Constructicons individually and was never able to get Scavenger so I was denied the mighty Devastator. I did have all of the Combaticons and Terrorcons.

Here’s what I had in my collection. I gave it all to my best friend, along with all of my GI Joe stuff when I was a sophomore or junior in high school. Even though I could be sharing those with my son, I don’t regret it.

Thank you Ryan. I worked my butt off for those, had a paper route, mowed lawns, did clean-up work for my uncle's dry wall business on and worked for a caterer that was friend with my grandparents.

I never had a paper route, but I had several lawns that I cut weekly or biweekly depending on he customer. I was making about $40-$50 a week, which for a 12 year old boy was a fortune.

Yeah never had a paper route either. I did stuff around the house for an allowance, and also mowed my grandparents 3 acre farm once a week. Our most bizarred childhood endeavor was when my brother and I would catch snakes around the neighborhood. The neighbors would pay us a buck a snake, and we would then take them out to my grandparents farm and release them. We caught mostly garter snakes, but bull snakes, rat snakes and water snakes as well. While doing this, I would pretend I was a GI Joe catching Cobra's! There were times where we made $50.00 a day.

That would be Chuck's worst nightmare. He hates snakes.

Yep, I got Dirge from my little brother. he wasn't into Transformers much. Whenever he would get one for his birthday or Christmas he would offer it to me for cash or a trade.

No Dirge for me either. I only had Skywarp as a kid. I think I have Dirge now. I have to check the jets I have bought in the Generations wave. Maybe I didn't get him. I know I got Starscream and Thundercracker (funny that the one new version I don't have is Skywarp who I had as a kid) and I have Ramjet.

Never had any of the jets myself...were always too expensive. I did have cousin who wasn't as despondent as me, so I made a point to stay over at his house pretty regularly. He had all the original F-15's. Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker...those were always my favorites. Them and the Dinobots. I did have Swoop and one of the Insecticons. Loved those.

Yep, I've been there with movie/tv/video game tie-ins done in comics. Here we have a tie-in that links a video game to a tv series that to my knowledge had been seperate until now. I would normally pass on something like this and get the trade, but my son's favorite characters are the Dinobots and I'm also interested in seeing how through this series they link Fall of Cybertron to Prime.
