You have the Sorcerery arguement, I think that gives Mumm-ra the upper hand. I know there is a long history of Sith Magic or Sorcerery but I don't know how practices Sidious was in this. While Mumm-ra by definition is ever living, I dont know if he can be killed, the Emperor also had an essence transfer ability and a steady stream of clone bodies in the waiting to give him near immortality as well. I think this is a closer match than you'd first think.

I've got to go with the Emperor, though it'd be close....

I would have to go with Voltron on the previous match-up with blazing sword and all. I think the cats will lose those separately against the Predacons.

As far as the recent match up, I have to go Mumm-Ra. I love Sidious, but he's not a huge one for battle. If it was who can manipulate better, I would pick Sidious, but Mumm-Ra has the sorcery along with the physical ability.

I like Mumm-Ra waaay better, but in this case I gotta go with Palpatine. Even though his Sith thing was too exaggerated.
Would go something like...
"Ancient spirits of evil, transform thi..."force-choke..."Lightening Bolt! Lightening Bolt! Lightening Bolt!
...and the Thundercats lives just got immensely better.

Ok, here is my pairing! I think this is a good one. Let's make the assumption they only have access to real life, current weaponry.

I must confess, this is too close for me to call....

You do realize we cover Star Wars here, right? LOL

No question for me...Terminator. Aside from my total indifference towards Star Trek and my love of Terminator, you have a machine programmed for eliminating the competition (it's in its name). I very highly doubt we would see Data still crawling after its target when his legs are gone and he has just one arm left. No question for me, Data will see the scrap heap.

I think the main differnce is in the ethos. Data, while physically capable to hold his own has a completely different purpose. The Terminator's entire reason for existance is to destroy it's target. Data's purpose is to provide service, and his personal ambition is to be more human. Meaning he would take into account the ethics or morality of a fight. Even if it was a split second hesitation the terminator would take advantage.

I enjoy ST:TNG immensely, I'm not a hater like the hosts here. I think Data is a more advanced robot/android. Higher processing power, quicker reflexes and a higher understanding of science and proven tactics. That would give him an edge no doubt.

This is all considering Data doesn't have his emotion chip installed, because he's be leaking fluids down his pants at the first sight of the Terminator if his scare-dy chip was installed.

Side note, I wasn't expecting others to take up the call and put their own versus out there. I don't mind, but thanks for sticking to the format. I'd like them all to look alike if you post your own. I also want to make sure we get those 3-5 votes in before someone puts up a new match.

ChromiumAgeCollector : Oh yeah, it's totally cool to propose a match up. I was just chatting with Ryan tonight and was hoping him and Chuck would shoot me a list. I was just expecting to be doing the graphics all by myself, but if you're comfortable doing it and making it look good, by all means keep it up! :D

Also, if you're putting Data against the T-800 I'm thinking its a close match up..... Against the T-1000 I think Data loses easily.

Alright, next match up,

Match 5:

Leader 1 - GOBOTS vs. Starscream Decepticon Transformer

Image

I think the hardest part of this challenge was finding some decent art for Leader 1....

Normally I do try to be fair in these type of debates, but in this case my Transformers fanboyism wins out - Starscream FTW.

For points in his favor: He's insanely durable, regularly getting shot by Megatron - which is fatal to other Cybertronians.
He can't die - his spark is immortal, if you destroy his body he can possess another (he even took over Trypticon once).
He's smart and resourceful. He was a scientist before the war, and has developed several novel bits of tech later on. Also when thrown back into the Dark Ages he was quickly able to rig up a device (using slave labor) to re-energise, and was able to make gunpowder and so forth (in comparison the lazy Autobots only managed to win by finding a helpful wizard - they basically achieved nothing on their own).
He's probably the faster of the two.

Starscream vs Leader-1: I don't know a whole lot about the GoBots, I only had two of the toys and have seen only one episode of the cartoon. Starscream fights dirty, has been at war with his enemies for millions of years where as Leader-1 has only been at it a small fraction of that time. Are the GoBots as advanced as Cybertronians? I don't think so, but that argument can be made. Got to go with Starscream. My friend debated in favor of Leader-1 saying he is the equivilant of Optimus Prime and that Starscream loses to Optimus everytime. In no way do I see Leader-1 anywhere in the same league as Optimus. Starscream wins this easily, he and the other Seekers use Leader-1's head as a hockey puck.

Catch up time for the previous match ups.

Snake Eyes beats Leonardo. I can easily argue the other way around too. Snake Eyes is overall the more complete fighter and soldier but Leo will put up one hell of a fight and make it a good show.

Predaking takes out Voltron.

Palpatine downs Mumm-Ra. I've seen what Mumm-Ra can do, I'v seen and read a lot more of what Palpatine can do with the force. He may seem frail, not much of a fighter and all that, but he can hold his own quite well.

Data takes out the T-800. Yes the T-800 is made for killing, I know that, I get that. Data has so much more to bring to the table than I think some are giving him credit for. For those of you that didn't see First Contact, Data takes a machine gun blast and brushes it off like it was nothing. Data will kill if neccesary, Data is an officer of Starfleet, that includes being a soldier. With his brain capcity, in 1.2 seconds or less Data probably has a hundred viable different ways planned out to win this fight and has the means to make it happen. The emotion chip is a non-factor, he can turn it off and on at will with a single thought. Data wins the this fight.

I have to go with Starscream. Even though I like the good guys generally, Starscream has everything going for him. He's the leader of the Seekers, so that means he is higher up than some other tough competition like Skywarp, Thundercracker, Thrust, and Dirge. He's deadly and extremely fast. I like Leader 1 and Starscream on the cartoon was a whiny schemer which I don't like, but Leader 1 loses.

I'll take IG-88 over Data any day of the week, so therefore Data must die at the hands of the Terminator. I can't have Star Trek characters winning and I can give every reason why they won't...even if it doesn't make sense. In this case it does make sense to me, so Terminator still for me for the win.
