The wife and I went and saw The Watch last night and it was pretty funny. Vince Vaughn steals the movie IMO. It's a good laugh movie, but dont look for any Oscars to be given. ;)

Interesting day of movie watching with wifey yesterday:

Ghostbusters II-I realized I never saw this before. I didn't miss anything.

Animal House-Wifey told me she'd NEVER seen Animal House. We rectified that thanks to Comcast on Demand. Awesome as ever, she like it more than she'll ever admit, and even laughed out loud when Pinto had the devil and angel on his shoulders.

Silverado-Such a great Western that I think a lot of people forget. Amazing cast for the time (although Kevin Kline really looks like Robin Williams with that beard), and the music is outstanding.

I still enjoyed Ghostbusters 2. I laugh every time when Venkman says that Viggo is suffering from Carpathian kitten loss and then Yonish says "yes, the joyfulness is over. Please go." I also love the line "Viggie Viggie Viggie, you've been a bad monkey!"

We watched "Being Elmo" last night. I'm not a big Muppet fan, but certainly not anti-Muppet like Darrell. If you haven't seen it, it's a documentary on the life of Kevin Clash, who's been working professionally as a puppeteer since he was a teenager. It was fascinating stuff, especially the story as to how he became Elmo, as well as when he first turned Jim Henson down for a job. The last segment is really cool, which harkens back to Clash's own experience being taught by a master.

Fan or not, highly recommend if only to learn just how passionate and talented someone like Clash is.

I saw ParaNorman last night. Its a pretty good movie. Maybe not great, but at least a solid B. The style and stop-motion animation are excellent, and there are some fun references to early horror movie making. The movie looks good, and it is well written. It has humor, but its not the laugh out comedy that I thought it would be, but it has it's moments. And once you get towards the climax of the movie, the story takes a little twist that makes it kind of a dark story. It doesn't get too heavy, but there is more to the story then what you expect. Overall, a good movie and worth seeing, but you might want to hold back on taking very small kids with you.

I just saw the Raid Redemption on Friday. Definitely one of the best action movies of the year. :D

Fair enough. I've heard a lot of good feedback for that movie. I think I'll check it out when it hits netflix.

Expendables 2 was bad ass!

My brother was raving about Raid Redemption on Sunday, and recommended I watch it. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

He and I went to see Expendables 2 on Friday and I liked it alot more than the first one. It's all about expectations with that movie, and if you are expecting a glorious, blood filled celebration of the 80's action flicks and stars then you won't be disappointed. It was great to see the actors poke fun at themselves.
And hearing the way JCVD say the word 'challenge' has me totally speaking differently now as I annoyingly try to mimic him.

I enjoyed Expendables 2 a lot. One of the best movies I've seen this year (granted I don't see many). Easily better than the first one. The Chuck Norris stuff was priceless.
