So my planning that I do for original art and sketches every convention is complete. It is a multi-factored analysis (wink) that factors in what sketch books or jams I have going at the moment. Also I consider who I already have several pieces from (Jamal, Wachter, etc), who doesn't make US appearances often (Ennis), known cost of sketches (Bolland), lines (JRJR, Cheung), willingness to even sketch (JRJR, Capullo, etc). I also consider who will fill up their list quickly and who will have spaces on their list a few hours into the con.

Right now I have a Batman grid-jam, a Thing grid-jam, a TMNT sketchbook, a GI Joe sketchbook, and a desire to expand my loose-piece collection of Cassie Hack pieces.

So here is the battle plan. The product of years of "experience" and "con wisdom". God, we're such nerds. I wouldn't have it any other way ;)

Walt Simonson - Thing + sig
Greg Capullo - Batman + sig
Kevin Maguire - Batman
Jeff Lemire - Batman
Cary Nord - XO sketch cover issue
Amanda Conner - Cassie
Dan Parent - Cassie
Matt Slay - TMNT
Larry Hama - GI Joe + sig
Dan Govar - GI Joe
Barry Kitson - Thing
Michael Dooney - TMNT
Dan Leister - Cassie

"Day 2"
Stan Lee - sig (FF print)
Mark Waid - sig (FF print)
Neal Adams - sig (Batman Treasury Ed)
Herb Trimpe - sig (GI Joe#1)
McLeod - sig (GI Joe#1)
Don Rosa - sig (Uncle Scrooge)
Frank Quitely - sig (AS Supes absolute)

I still have to make my plan. I'm glad to hear that Capullo might do sketches....his line will be long. May need to go to him first to see if. I can get on his list.

Watcher noted on his website that he won't be at Baltimore. Deadlines kept him from going.

I need to figure out who is best to do my blank cover sketches. I have blank sketch covers for a lot of books, including 2 Muppets, a TMNT, and many others.

Chris, I think Stan's only going to be there Saturday. You'll have to move him to your first list....

Chris, are you going to wait in line for Kitson? You're a brave man...

I've got no plan at all, which is totally uncharacteristic for me. I need to do a little more research, but I may just let the spirit move me once I hit the floor. We'll see.

I have been busy gathering my list of comics to look for. Want to finish some collections where I am missing just a few issues (ex. - Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, etc) and some that I had the full run of at one time, but then gave most to my nieces and nephews, now I want to collect them back (ex. - Young Justice, Robin).

We'll see what happens. Hope I can get some of Hesse collections completed.

This week I'll be focusing on the creator lists. Maybe I'll list my blank comic covers here and you guys can suggest from those that will be at the show, who would be good to draw on them (I know I won't get them all drawn on this show. Just own too many).

Daniel Govar's a monster! I love his stuff, I'm thinking of getting something from him this goround. I've gotten a few quick sketches from him before but I've got the perfect subject that would be perfect for his art style: Don Quixote! It'll be beautiful!

One thing we haven't talked about yet is the costume contest on Sunday. Winner gets a 1 grand CASH. Amazing costumes, a lot of Joes and Star Wars types.

Like Chris Campbell, I'm bringing a box of freebies for people to take off my hands. I will not have a list, I'm too lazy. I will say it's a lot of 80s comics, some newer stuff that I didn't get into like I'd hoped. Few trades as well...

I was right, the comic "higher beings" really were smiling down on me. Turns out when I get back from the show to work I leave for Boston and then will be up there until further notice (coming home on weekends as we can).

I'm going to savor every moment of the con and every beer, too. :D

I already have goodie bags set aside containing everyone's requested free comics/trades/Eaglemoss. I'll also have the free boxes out at my house on Friday for drunken fingering. ... Wait.
