I never wanted a Cosmos. I don't even remember him from the cartoon.

I did pick up a Fall of Cybertron Jazz, he's always been one of my favorite characters, so it was an easy choice. I've skipping most of the TF: Prime toys, but these Fall of Cybertron figures look like something I can get behind. I can't wait to find a Shockwave!

So if someone could school me here.. In the Generations line... When a figure is Cybertronian... What line is that based off of? What cartoon or movie or... Is it not. I know what Cybertron is to the G1 cartoon but I'm kind of clueless to other incarnations. I believe the Generations line pulls from different eras yea?

Ah okay that helps. It can get confusing when it comes to all the different eras of Transformers. It seems that the Generations line is pretty good in general though?

One of the things I've been liking about the Transformers line is that Hasbro gives us multiple lines/continuities at once. At TRU yesterday they had DOTM toys, Generations toys and Prime toys. They had four different styled Bumblebees.
It's terribly frustrating when Hasbro doesn't do the same thing for the GI Joe line, because claims have been made that Joe fans aren't savvy enough to know the difference if they were to run two lines simultaneously.

In my perfect world Joe would have a Renegades line, Movie line, and classics style ARAH line using O-rings again. But I don't think Joe fans would know what to do f they had nothing to bitch and moan about...I suppose they'd still find something.

Honestly with GI-JOE they could have the same cards with a different outline color for each style. Say green for the movie, Red for Renegades, White for "classics", and Blue for whatever other style they wanted. The Picture on the card could be in the style of whichever one the figure represents. If there is a cartoon rendering of Roadblock on the package and a figure that looks like that, buyers aren't going to mistake that for the one behind it with the picture of the Rock on it which contains the movie version of the same character. Heck they could go one step further and have stick on the blister saying which part of the franchise it was from, ala MOTUC.

Much like children are assumed to be dumb (which is why the Clone Wars movie and animated series doesn't have a space crawl, because they thought kids wouldn't like reading it or be able to read it). They are smarter than you think. I was reading that space crawl the second I could read.

Don't assume we're dumb. Assume we're at least moderately intelligent and we might raise the IQ of this country a bit. People rise to challenges presented to them and meet the level of their conflict (hence why sometimes great sports teams lose to crappy teams. They play to the level presented to them).

Kids are usually excited to read and spell if you present it to them as something to accomplish and be proud of. I remember spelling photosynthesis for people because my mom made me appreciate reading from a young age. I think I'm into reading today because of her (and because my dad made it possible for her to have the time to do so)

In preschool they thought I was mildly retarded so they sent me to a specialist to gauge my learning needs. The specialist asked me what my three favorite animals were, and I told her it was the Stegasaurus, Triceratops, and the Tyranosaurus Rex. Then I spelled them for her. She decided I wasn't slow, but just bored so they moved me to kindergarten earlier than planned.

My parents read to me every night or I read to them, and it was everything from Hardy Boys to Garfield comics, to Lone Wolf Choose Your Own Adventure Books. I still read everything I can get my hands on whether it be a fiction novel, biography or even a cereal box!

As a kid I used to read all the time too. I think that video games have taken some of the reading away from kids. Not to be the old, grouchy man but more kids are playing video games than reading these days. That and the development of 300 plus channels on TV, have all lead to reading being pushed to the back burner. Times change, no matter how much we want to keep them the same. I still love to read and I will keep reading, I read to my kids and hope they learn to love reading as much as I do.
