There's a bar/restaurant almost across the street from the convention center that's an Irish place. It's got ok food but great alcohol if your into brews from the British Isles. Tir Na Nog is what it's called. They sell Magners so that makes me happy

Question. The gathering or whatever you were talking about doing on friday night. Are you guys planning on doing it in the hotel room cause if that's the care I'll bring a crap ton o wings from Cluck U which has some really good wings. Can easily go to the website to see what flavors of goodness they have if anyone has preferences.

Hey guys, finally got on these boards... Ill be in Baltimore this year too... you guys were very lucky to get a room at the Hyatt, freaking Sheraton con rate was $250/night ugh... Im staying by the airport and taking the light rail in... Yankees are in town that weekend so it should be a madhouse...

ryan i know you were interested in battle beast and not sure if you wanted the figures or not but this link show sdcc exclusives and the battle beast 2 pack was one and also had the comic.if it doesn't take you to the sdcc section just look for the sdcc logo that should help

I like those figures. I was so concerned that the figures would not be fully painted, but just like the exclusives that were translucent one color figures. I do wish there was a little more sculpt to the body like the old Battle Beasts had, but I know this is the Mini-mates look.

Not bad for $10. I would pay $10 for a 2-pack.

Kids 10 and under get in free with a ticketed adult at the 2012 Baltimore Comic-Con on September 8-9 at the Baltimore Convention Center-- and there will be a ton of kid-friendly comics, as well as the artists and writers who make them! Creators from such companies as Pixar, Archie, Scholastic, Disney, Simon & Schuster, Marvel, and DC will be on hand to sketch, help teach young ones about the magic of comics through mini-how to's through the weekend, and to just say "hi," right at the Kids Love Comics Pavilion!

Activities in this super cool section of the show include:

* Interactive Comics Talks from some of All-Ages Comics top creators, such as Jimmy Gownley (Amelia Rules!), Franco (Tiny Titans), and Dan Parent (Archie)

* Design your own super hero cape

* Kids Comics Reading and Drawing Booth

* Creator sketches and autographs

"The Baltimore Comic-Con has always been a welcoming, family-friendly show," said John Gallagher, creator of the Buzzboy graphic novel series and organizer of the kids section, "so great that I bring my own family here every year."

That reminds me. The weekend before the con is the Baltimore Grand Prix. There's a good potential that a lot of the barriers and walls will still be up so it might be a bit more annoying then normal trying to get around the city when your driving in. Just a heads up.

Also, someone mentioned taking the light rail in. It's a great idea for saturday but a bad idea for sunday. Sunday the first train doesn't move until almost 10:30 in the morning so unless you don't care about getting there late on sunday your good. The trains also stop running around 12:30am, so if you plan on staying late and hanging out with folks try to keep that in mind
