I like the movie figures for the most part as far as the figures themselves, but I agree that the card art sucks and I would rather have less gimmicky accessories for better card art, but I think the toy creators have in their mind that kids want the gimmicky accessories.
They don't remember that what attarcted us as kids to those original figures was the awesome card art in the store. They looked awesome on there no matter how lame the figure actually was.
A couple good examples are Brawn from the Transformers line sucked really as a figure, but his card art made him look like he would be awesome. Let's not forget Crystal Ball. A very lame figure, but his card art made him look dangerous.
