Mattel's got more SDCC exclusives than just MOTU:

Have to admit, that Tiny Titans set is awful cute. I'd pick one up after the show if they have any available. Look forward to seeing the Hot Wheels Mystery Machine, too.

Those He-Man figures are odd. I'm curious about the Cars 2 Mater thing. That box art is brilliant. Especially if you've spent any time in Japan or your into Japanese toys. I agree about the Teen Titans, adorable.

I like the look of the Death figure. They did a nice job on her.

Free Comic Book Day at Acme Comics:

Daniel loves Adventure Time and Chris Giarusso's stuff. He asked for the characters and Chris didn't know them. Another artist did a couple thumbnails and Chris knocked this out.

Image

At Acme, once you get a sketch from an artist you have to get back in line for them, so Daniel went back for Daredevil.

Image

Daniel also started a DC jam piece.

Image

Giarusso Kilowog, Batman by Gregg Schigiel, Joker by Jeremy Dale, Flash and Blue Beetle by Jacob Chabot, Superman by Brian Smith, and Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Wonder Woman from "Little League" (Justice League in elementary school, the strip is excellent) by a young artist named Yale Stewart. There's more room for him to pick up more later.

The big surprise of the day was that I won a contest that Gregg Schigiel ran on his podcast "Stuff Said," which I enjoy because it tends to be creator to creator interviews. I won an original page from one of Gregg's Spongebob Squarepants stories, so that went to Daniel.

Free Comic Book Day at Acme Comics:

Jacob was determined to do an Avengers jam. It was quite a hit amongst other fans, us too. Turned out way better than I thought it would.

Image

Iron Man by Chris Giarusso, Hawkeye by Chris Fason, Thor and Wasp by Jacob Chabot, Cap by Gregg Schigiel, and Hulk by Jeremy Dale. Jeremy said it was the best thing he drew all day (I have to agree).

Free Comic Book Day at Acme Comics:

So I thought I'd do a Joe jam piece since I didn't have my sketchbook. Didn't quite turn out like I wanted, but I had fun with it. Most of the artists thumbed through my reference book and talked about their favorite figures they had as kids. I got one page completed.

Image

Bazooka by Brian Smith, Destro by Brian Hurtt, Wild Bill by Gregg Schigiel, and Baroness by Yale Stewart.

I started a second piece, then the rain hit and wasn't able to get anymore.

Image

Shipwreck by Craig Rousseau.

Will probably hold off on getting more on the second page for a while, we'll see.

Dusty and Cover Girl done by Leanne Hannah. I'm not exactly a great photographer. I apologize for it kinda being bad.

Matt Slay sketch on the back of the Leonardo 1 shot that he did the cover of. It's Baxter Stockman after he became a fly.

I talked to them for about 2 hours. Rod remembered me from Baltimore last year and they will be there again. A bit of a fact, they meet on a gi joe web board so they're hard core. They're actually a good idea for an interview on the podcast. The stuff they're into and do is right up the shows alley

Absolutely amazing art, guys. We'll definitely do what we can to have them on the show. I know we are pretty much booked with guests for the next 2 months. We'll be having Robert on again soon, and Quinn Johnson might come on with him. Then we'll be having Gary from WOJM on for a show to talk about a convention he's working on. Then might have Bill from ETM on to talk Tansformers/Avengers crossover. Then I would like to get Andy Schmidt on, which has been long overdue to have him on. Maybe after all of that we can get them on also. Plus, we definitely want to have Shannon on again, and Tom Feister before Baltimore happens.

Holy crap everyone, great sketches and I love the Sponge Bob page LOL!!!! :D
That Dusty / Covergirl sketch is sweet, I love it. I will be picking up some Joe sketches this year at Baltimore for sure. Thank you guys so much for sharing your stuff. I love to look at cool art, even if its not mine and I'll never be able to own it. LOL!!!!

Hey everyone! Finally made the transition over to the new forum. Sorry it took me so long, was busy getting married.

Got a toy question though: has anyone heard when Hasbro's Avengers Helicarrier is coming out? REALLY looking forward to it.
