NBC Revolution opinions

Postby Zero » Sat Sep 29, 2012 10:16 am

Finish watching the first two episodes and it's not too bad. Logic holes aside the storytelling makes for a an interesting 60 minutes. However I am not a fan of the female lead character named Charlie. Charlie comes across as very whiny and patronizing (especially in episode two). NBC is trying to pull in Hunger Games fans by making Charlie a variation of Katniss. All she's done so far is stare, cry and give guilty trips. If this character is removed with the next few episodes I won't miss her. Maybe Charlie will have some character growth and my opinion will change. For the time being Revolution has a place on my PVR.

I have watched Revolution and I pretty much agree with everything you said. I like it and really enjoy the action shots. I agree that the scenes I don't care for as much involve Charlie. I hope they toughen her up some more. Love the Miles character and his connection to Monroe. Looking forward to more of that back story. I love the comic relief guy who used to work or Google. My favorite character so far is the leader of that band of militia (forget his name). Very well acted and I love hating him.

I'm very curios what led to all of this (though I doubt they will ever say for certain with any clarity of making sense). It's an interesting story and I'm in for watching it until it gets cancelled, which seems like will happen based on reactions I have heard.

I've watched an episode, and this just isn't my cup of tea. It seems to me too derivative of Walking Dead.

Are there any dirtypeople in the show? I haven't watched any of it yet but the all the adverts for it made me feel strange in that it's just to clean. If there's no power, I'm sorry. 15 years later people aren't going to be wearing levi's and be perfectly clean. It just bugs the crap out of me.

I watched the first 2 episodes and I have to say it is border line for me to keep watching. I will give it a few more before I cut the cord. The new show I have enjoyed it Vegas. I like Dennis Quaid and 60's Vegas is a good backdrop.

The new shows I have really enjoyed from the new line-ups are 2 in particular:

Go On: I watched this because I liked Matthew Perry on Friends, but he really hasn't done anything good since then (other than the movie The Whole Nine Yards, which I liked). I expected to watch an episode and not like it, but surprisingly I find it pretty funny. It does have some resolutions or realizations for the main character a little too fast, but the comments and things that happen on the show are really funny. So I will keep watching.

Elementary: I saw the premise of this show and was very interested. The premiere did not let me down. The actors are great and the writers piece together a good smart story. Good new take on Sherlock Holmes in a modern day world who comes off a bit intentionally nuts.

The other 2 shows I am eager to see returning are The Walking Dead and American Horror Story.
