R2-KT came about because of Albin Johnson who was the founder of the 501st. Katie was his daughter who had a brain tumor I think that she died of a few years ago. She was a huge star wars fan and loved R2-D2 so hence the pink R2 unit. To this day the 501st almost always has some sort of R2-KT patch or shirt for sale and I'm pretty certain all the sales of that go towards cancer research.

Sadly the 501st is forbidden to sell any sort of swag to non members. Part of the deal with Lucas. :(

Not likely to find it there either. Unless your just looking for anything KT related sold via hasbro or the disney pin chances of finding a patch is slim. Even on ebay the 501st polices it and has things pulled down all the time. It's part of the charter that was agreed to which gives them an official sanction from Lucasfilm. They can't sell anything outside of members. Period.

I know it sounds harsh but it's just how it is. Frankly, if you could see the amount of stuff that gets produced from the Florida Garrison, they have people who could make a living doing it. It's crazy. They have patches for someone farting in costume at some event it seems like.

The fact that they are that strict and have high standards about who they are as a group actually makes me respect the 501st that much more.

I can understand the 501st following guidlines to be able to keep their license agremment with Lucas. Lucas should allow something to be widely sold for fundraising/charity purposes.

I loved the castle Grayskull preorder talk

Chuck I also got one of those retro gaming consoles. It's called an FC3 and plays NES, SNES and Genesis. I love playing the old games I grew up with and I still don't own a PS3, a 360 or either Wii. I used to play PS2 a lot in its hay day but mine has since died

The only R2-KT figure you might be able to find is the one that Kenner sold at the San Diego Comic Con, since it was sold to the public.

I just checked E-bay and there are a few of them on the market starting at about 28 dollars.

Listened to the episode on my 9+ hour drive back from Kentucky today. Fun lists! I think my top 5 of things I didn't get would be:

1. an AT-AT
2. 12" Boba Fett
3. Joe HQ Command Center
4. Maskatron from The Six Million Dollar Man
5. 12" Cylon from Battlestar Galactica (circa 1978)

My best Christmas is tough, I can't remember year to year what I got, but I'm going to say '79 or '80 when I got the Millenium Falcon. That was mind blowing.

Man, I saw a 12" Boba Fett when I was out in Vegas over a year ago. I think they were selling him for like $90-$100, and I was VERY tempted to get him.
