Because Duke is boring and uninteresting for the most part. He's not a terrible character but he doesn't really stand out.

I've always thought Flint was more interesting visually but the whole coming with a shotgun to go into battle with was baffling to me as kid.

Duke always struck me as the typical flag waving ideal for American soldiers. Therefore he's the everyman which means he's not going to stick out to much. It's also sort of why a lot of casual fans probably don't remember characters like Grunt, Zap and Short-Fuse get so easily missed. They're just dudes in green with helmets. At least Breaker had the bubble gum, Clutch had the beard and Rock n Roll had the ammo belts and bright blonde beard to distinguish them.

Greg, don't kiss up to Chuck by having Duke on your list. :lol:

I like Duke, but I always saw him as the poster boy. Where Flint for me was the guy that got into the tough missions hands on and accomplished them any way that needed to be done....which is kinda how they play him a bit in the Cobra book now.
