Batman #8 was pretty good. Action was good, really enjoyed all the clever ways Bruce evades and fights the Talons. A marked improvement from the last issue, made me really look forward to Night of the Owls as a whole.
That "Hoo hoo" line...I'm not sure if that's creepy or very, VERY silly.
...I didn't notice the bat on that wind-chime until now. :O
"That Talon looks like he's from the 1700s." Yep--DC's blog did have a feature a while back that showed off all the different Talons that will be involved in the Night of the Owls story, from as early as the 1700s to as current as the 1980s. The Talon you're mentioning is apparently the one Damian's going to face in Batman & Robin.

Nightwing #8 was surprisingly good, since I honestly wasn't a huge fan of the first arc (the circus stuff felt like old hat and REALLY padded out), but the action and this Talon's back-story was pretty damn good and the art was probably Barrows' best yet.
"Which sucks for Gordon." I'm pretty sure that's going to be the story in Batgirl.
"Do you practice for that?" They probably strap a strawman or some sort of life-sized doll onto that wheel for him to practice. I also imagine that for that kind of feat to work, they time to the second when it starts, which direction it'll go, how fast it goes, etc.
Well, since you threw the gauntlet out for me...nothing here says whether Cobb wanted to be a Talon or not for sure. From what he's saying, I'm guessing whether he initially wanted it or not, Cobb made some sort of deal that would benefit his family, because he says that Dick's actions makes everything that he's done "worthless." I dunno, I guess we'll find out next issue.
Good episode.
