I liked the impassioned plea that Cap gave on the first page but Hulk only appeared twice in this issue and felt that he was wasted overall. If he hadn't had appeared then i don't think I would've missed him all that much.
As far as Charles's death, the entire issue was a fantastic build-up and I felt the emotion that Scott was feeling (he came across as a young boy who just wants approval for what he's done). However, why wrap his hands around Emma's neck to take the Phoenix power and not Xavier's? Wouldn't it have been a more powerful death to die literally at the hands of someone that he'd thought of as his son? I think I saw a review on another site with an image of the panel saying "Xavier killed by lightbulb". I did think that another way it could've gone down is that Emma kills Xavier (to provoke Scott in taking the Phoenix power from her), Scott in his grief gives Emma a beatdown and thus takes all the power and transform into Dark Phoenix. But to have Scott kill his mentor/father figure is just too good an opportunity to pass up.
The artwork is fantastic! That is all on that matter.
Apart from those two points (Hulk and Charles' death), this was probably my favourite issue of the series (next to Spider-Man's beatdown).
